He 219/LB-79

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

This is on my "to-do" list in the near future...

Czechc-79postwar_zpsaa73278c.jpg

Used to patrol the German/Czech border at night, circa early 1950s..neat huh? :thumbsup:/>

Anyone want to take a stab at the green top color? RLM 71 or some type of Kahki, or both?

I'm open for suggestions...

Cheers, Ian

Aaron,

Nope she really flew. The Czech air force had two, this one, and another one used for a jet engine testbed. They were retired in 1952..

Cool stuff..

Andre,

Yeah, that sounds about right. Thats what I was thinking as well...

Cheers, Ian

This Uhu isn't what if - it is first (and last) czech (czechoslovakian) AWACS in history. This particulary Uhu with "bort" white 32 may be late painted in overall silver (not NMF- only silver -or aluminium color - as our Mossie...) Painted was by khaki and light blue. Uhu's was dislocated in Žatec Airflield and carry probably weapon as He-219A-5 standard without rear "Schrage Musik".
