Torn7th
Well gents after over a 5 year hiatus Ive decided to get back into my groove. Wish me luck as i'm sure im very rusty lol. Ive decided to start with one of my favorite birds as my best friends son flies one. 1/48th F/A-18E. Revell kit. Aires Cockpit, Scale Aircraft Conversions metal landing gear, and Rhino Seamless intakes. Im sure ill add stuff here and there. Any advice on this kit would be greatly appreciated as it is Revell and far from perfect. Ive seen alot of Hornets on here and I can only hope to get close to some of the outstanding work i've seen on here. Thanks Gents Torn....
jester292
Take your time. Many people complain about the fit of the nose pieces. They weren't too bad for me. The landing gear bays are spectacular out of the box. They're fun to paint and highlight. Have fun and share pics! Aaron

Aaron Ditto, but I'm thinking folks who come back from a long hiatus have a different perspective on what "fit" is... After 10 years, the Revell Super Hornet is my first project, too. I was hoping to just finish it OOB, but I just don't have the personality for it and have been using this as a guide to build it along with Jesni's build thread on this forum: Awesome Build!. Won't be fixing the main shape issue with this kit because I might never finish if I do...but will be doing everything else (like dropping the flaps..which is becoming a PITA!). Good luck! Fly-n-hi
For around $20, which they usually are here in the states, the Revell F/A-18 Superhornets are some of the best kits out there. Edited December 2, 2013 by Fly-n-hi

I do agree -- just received the Hasegawa Hornet @ 4X the price via FedEx this evening! It's better but not by a magnitude of 4! JMan
Looking forward to this build. I have one of these in my stash of 2, well I guess you could say stash of 1 since I am working on 1.....lol! I would have to say that the main landing gear bay is a little out of the way of being accurate, way too much wiring in there. Lets just say its not accurate IMHO!!!! Cant wait for your first build update!
