MPM´s new Mirage F.1 in 72nd !

Recommended Posts

Looking great! :woot.gif: And the choice of subject is very interesting too. If you guys go for the french jets you should consider a Mirage 2000 to! The 1/72 Mirage 2000 out there aren't up to date anymore.

Keep up the very good work and Happy New Year

Rob

Detail and panellines looks excellent. Is it still possible to adjust some of the sprue gates a little? The thin part *looks* to be on a short side against fuselage and nose for example. Easier to remove parts without damage if the thin parts are a bit longer.

Great! Please do not forget the special "souris" on the SAAF F1AZ. The intake cones are longer on that version.

Not only that. The AZ/CZ have chaff/flares dispensers imbedded to the "keels"/underfuselage empenage/whatever you call them.

Does someone (Pierre Sacha perhaps ?) have photos of the thingies with the decoy cartridges in place ?

Hi Laurent

Are these the same as on Spanish F1E ?

Ok. Thanks to the great help of a friend, I understand better the decoy system of AZ/CZ versions. It was called RIMS (Radar and Infra-red Misleading System).

The following link is interesting as you can see the location of the components of the RIMS in the diagram (towards the end of the page) and you can read that the wing ones have been removed: http://www.sa-transp...af_service.html

Here's a shot of a wing dispenser: http://i599.photobuc...04-0005-800.jpg

Here's a shot showing more or less the remaining wing dispenser attachement points: http://ic.pics.livej...09_original.jpg

That underside shot shows the slight fairing for the doppler panel rather well due to the shadows!

This is the response from MPM when I asked about the status on the Mirage F.1s on the 72 scale forum....

Hi all,

So sorry about keeping you waiting. The Mirage hasn´t been finished yet and most probably won´t be until the end of this year.

Our mouldmakers are still busy with improving the Mirage moulds and correcting all fit-imperfections so that the model can be as nice and easy to build as possible.

But I am sure you understand that the Mirage F.1 is not as simple (shapes, number of parts etc) model as our other news (Gnat, Fouga...) and that is why it also takes much more time than those other projects.

Be sure I will inform you here about any news regarding this project.

Best wishes

Petr@MPM

They're on the way.....
