Airfix - Old vs New Molds

Is there an easy way to identify which Airfix kits are "upgraded" by retooling? Evidently can't go by new boxart alone.

There is not, you have to look for reviews if it´s a new tooled kit or is it a rebox from another maker but it´s quite sure that Airfix is replacing their old kits.

Easiest way is to check the boxing code, using the Airfix site as a reference.

But yes, very frustrating initially! Why they keep banging the old horrible kits out, when they make newer mould kits is beyond me.

Do as I do after buying the old Zero by accident - check the kit and boxart while in the shop with your smartphone if you have one.

The Airfix Tribute Forum has a kit index which is kept up to date with information on all the kits; new tool, re-issues etc;
