Modern 1/32 weapons

Recommended Posts

Hello all

I'm looking for something a little different to put on my Academy Viper. I'm using the Twobobs Big Mouth Vipers sheet, depicting a Block 50 from Spang. Any suggestions as to what I should use, and where I can find the weapons? I'm wanting something different than the standard SEAD load of HARM's.

Aaron

2X TER 6X MK82 with a BSU49B stabilizers? Slant loaded GBU12s on 2 TERS. I dont know if anyone does a small diameter bomb and dispenser in 32 scale yet.

Wouldn't Block 50 from Spang be tasked with a SEAD role with HARMs and an HTS pod?

AG loads would be on the Block 40s out of Aviano.

Spang F-16's did fly with a HARM under one wing, and a VER with two GBU-38's under the other wing during Oddysey Dawn over Lybia a couple years ago. I don't know if they did that during 2003 (the year of your decal option), but I wouldn't be surprised if they used various A/G ordnance during A-stan or Iraq deployments.

While SEAD is the Block 50's specialty, they train for and fly a variety of 'traditional' missions. Otherwise, they wouldn't be required to deploy to Afghanistan like they've done in recent years.

For my money, I like the dual-GBU-38 load on the Smart rack.

But, Misawa Vipers is where it's at, Aaron.

The Academy kit has decals for two Misawa Vipers. A very nice sheet printed by Cartograf. The Tamiya kit also has Misawa decals.
