Alpagueur
does anyone know where I could find pictures of heavily armed Tornado F3s of Operation Telic? (w/underbelly/underwing alarms or further stores). Again, how many alarm missiles could be carried at the same time on the (underwing) inner pylons? (two or four) And how many on the belly pylons? (two or three) Many thanks in advance. cheers Edited December 22, 2013 by Alpagueur
Dmanton300
The Tornado EF.3 never went beyond the project stage and never served in Telic. Although the RWR locations on the F.3 made it a great emitter location system, it never progressed far enough to be used in Telic, and the whole project was binned shortly after due to budget cuts. Only ever seen with two ALARM test carried on the shoulder pylons as far as I'm aware.
Finn
As mentioned the EF.3 didn’t get used much in it’s new role but a couple of pics: http://www.projectoceanvision.com/vox/images/chapter10/f3_alarm.jpg http://www.projectoceanvision.com/vox/images/chapter10/f3-alarm.jpg Jari
Jabba29
As has been mentioned earlier the Tornado F3 did not carry any Alarm missiles during Op Telic, but the Tornado GR4 did and I have seen photos of them carrying 4 missiles, two under the fuselage and one on each of the outboard rails of the inner wing pylons. Hope that this helps.
