ccrqw
Guys I do not know about the rest of you, but I have made some great buys on Ebay lately. I been searching for 1/72 scale HH-3C an out of production kit from Revelle or Aurora and wow got three in separate buys for as little as $10 each. I am excited. You got to shop around cause I noticed some other helicopter kits I wanted ranged from as little as $15 USD to $60 USD for the same kit. Long story short... I am happy camper ;-)

DrGlueblob
..Just make sure you always check the seller's shipping rate.
ccrqw
Oh yes, good point, a couple of times I was able to change the shipping rate to a cheaper rate since it was not important to receive the model in two business days.

Scott Smith
I too get most of my stash from eBay. But a lot comes from the main modeling forums too. As much as I purchase off eBay, I refuse to take the risk of selling there due to the way they restructured years ago. A seller can get screwed in a heartbeat with the new rules. And their price gouging on smaller sales really jacks the price of small items up to the point of it not really being worth the effort to sell there. Example, a 1/32 pilot figure has to be sold for $10 or more just to cover fees and trying to make a buck or three on the deal. I read where one guy sold something for $2 or $3, and it actually cost him to sell it after fees. But I did get a smoking deal years ago from a garage reseller(their actual users name was something like garagereseller) on a Tamiya 1/32 F-4J. He listed it under something other than Hobbies. You had to do a specific search to find it. Picked it up for something like $65 shipped, and it had a crumpled up $100 bill in the corner of the box!
Jim S
FWIW The flip side of this coin is it's really easy to buy faster than you can build. Like other people around here, I am set for life. Maybe x2 Everything in moderation, Jim S

Stuff we most likely would not get charged duty gets hit with the perceived duty by their broker in the states and they reap the benignity if none is charged. Just another scam...
