pookie
2014 list Stephen It doesn't look like they are coming out with anything "new" in the 1/48 aircraft category.
Dmanton300
What a spectacularly uninspired year. Honestly, that's it?!?
Scooby
It doesn't look like they are coming out with anything "new" in the 1/48 aircraft category. Seriously? The Tornado is all new tool and the pictures they posted on their Facebook page from Telford are fabulous. Looks like an incredible kit.
Scooby
What a spectacularly uninspired year. Honestly, that's it?!? Drewe, I know 1/72 is your main scale but you must be excited about the Tornado?
Scott Smith
Looks like a new scheme for the old 1/32 Phantom. Just what my stash needs!

Dmanton300
Drewe, I know 1/72 is your main scale but you must be excited about the Tornado? Oh yes, but the point is that's a carry over from last year, like the Gripen in 72nd. So I was excited about them twelve months ago. So they're not really new for 2014. DutchThud
Great news that Revell re-issues the F-4F Phantom in 1:32 scale. The F-4F wears the very attractive black and orange checkered colour scheme of WTD-61, the Flight Test Unit of the Luftwaffe. It carries the farewell text: "Don't let me die, I want to fly." Johnopfor
What a spectacularly uninspired year. Honestly, that's it?!? Yeah, I agree. Not much in 1/72 scale that interests me other than a new mold Gripen C. Do we really need another F4U-1D, especially when the Tamiya kit is still available?
ChernayaAkula
^ My thoughts exactly! Not even a lot of repops. I love 1/72 Vipers and will probably get one each, but just two Vipers, that humongous flying boat and an 8th AF gift set? No 1/72 helos whatsoever? :o As for the Corsair: I suppose we (as in "the guys visiting online scale modelling forums") may not need it, but the vast majority of Revell's target audience probably never even heard about Tamiya, let alone saw one of their kits. Revell make most of their money in stores where "the customer can get a kit from any manufacturer they want so long as the manufacturer is Revell". ;) Ah, well, with any luck they'll give us dropped flaps or even a folded wing option... EDIT: Is it me or does the whole list just consist of original Revell toolings or companies they're associated with (like the Monogram P-61 or the Matchbox figure sets)? No reboxing of any other companies' kits? Edited January 2, 2014 by ChernayaAkula

Hoops
Glad to see a date for the Gripen, I had quietly harbored some fears that it would have been dropped rather than just postponed. Hoops

JayBee
Is this the same kit which first appeared in 1973 ? Nope, tooling was made around the mid 90`s, the 1/72 RoG F-4 is a more or less scaled down copy of that kit.
Johnopfor
When it will be 1/3 the price of the Tamiya? Sure. It won't be that cheap. Checking prices at my LHS, the Tamiya kits are running at $25 each, while the re-released F4U-5 (re-boxed Italeri kit) is running at $18. Being that it is a new mold kit, I can see it running at least $20 each. Unless it has a great cockpit, detailed engine and folding wings, I won't have any interest for it.
