Red Dog
The receiver is (finally) complete It received some smoke weathering with salt technique, different mist of greys and the usual washes. The probe had to be realigned, it points almost downward if left as intented. I'll shoot some more detail pictures ASAP. The tanker needs some more work, hopefully somewhere during the week :)/>

Red Dog
The "nounou" (Buddy refuel) system is assembled and ready. need some minor touch ups before assembling The hose is 27cm (13m in 1/48) long and 1mm in diameter (50mm 1/1) The hardest thing was to scracth the drogue. It was done with different plastic cylinders cur to lenght, some metal rods disposed in a cone and glued on the outer side on a bigger circle cut out from thin plasticard. The outside of the drogue was then circled with toilet paper mixed with white glue. Luckily I was able to find some dimensions of the real system: Edited June 21, 2014 by Red Dog
arnobiz
Great work, thanks for sharing the nounou's dimensions! Arnaud
HOLMES
WOW!! You have done an Awesome job on a very challenging build and it's quite INSPIRATIONAL. OUTSTANDING job :worship:
Devilleader501
I absolutely love the first picture of the receiving aircraft. It wouldn't take much in photoshop to add a little exhaust heat out the back and that picture would look like the real thing. Your execution on both of these are truly amazing. I also have an idea with using a refueling drogue and am thankful for you post on the dimensions. Excellent job my friend cant wait for the rest of the build.

Red Dog
Thank you gentlemen, I'm glad the dimensions of the AAR system will be useful to you. Airborne models are really challenging, the more we see of them, the better IMHO :)/> One can guess I am in my 'in flight' modelling phase :)/> The refueller is finished as well That's the Hobby boss boxing Now all it takes is to assemble the subassemblies and make the base. Red Dog
Thanks It's done. And with the beautiful weather and no Wind I took some outside shot Lame attempt at making both rod disappear in this frontal shot :)/>/> I'll try harder I don't know why but this is my favourite. Probably the Sunset and the long shadow and the cloudy background making the picture authentic Cheers
