SERNAK
I'll bet you're still struggling with that fuselage aft. I know cause I have been there, done that!!!
Spectre711
Not much to speak of other than I have some gray and tan on there but have to mask the canopy. I've just been kind of busy and this one was pushed so far back that it almost fell off the burner.
phantom
You still have 1 month as of right...........NOW!
Spectre711
June should be a little slower for me so I'm going to push to finish by the end. The only thing I think I did to the Tomcat was to finish the blue.
Spectre711
So I got back to work on the F-18 today and attached some small things, masked the canopy and windshield and glued them down so I guess the next step will be some masking and shooting some black. Is it me or do none of the 1/72 canopy's fit good on this one? Was building an AMT one earlier but gave up cause the canopy was so narrow that there was no way it would ever look right. This one is not as bad but it is still too narrow for the fuselage. Kit actually came with two canopies and both were the same way. Starts off good in the back but when you get to the windshield it is too narrow.
Spectre711
I'll be masking and painting the brown next.
Spectre711
Been masking and painting here. I ended up with this and have some touchup to do.
Spectre711
And some clear!
Spectre711
After two evenings of applying decals this is what I ended up with. I could have taken the easy way out but I felt compelled to use all the little stencils Diego included on the sheet. :thumbsup:/>/>
Hajo L.
Looking great! Have the pictures been "morphed" or so? The Hornet looks "fat"... ;) HAJO
Spectre711
No, that just the way the Hasegawa kit is shaped. Might be just the angle of the shots. Edited June 28, 2014 by Spectre711
Spectre711
I did a wash of Burnt Umber and gave it a flat coat. I just have to get the gear doors and an ACMI pod and I'm done.
Ruud
Nice! How much fun was it to get the paint and the decals to line up :-) I've always had it in mind to build this bird but then after it was sold to the EdA.
Spectre711
It wasn't too badd since it was just the three stars and bars, one intake warning and the horizontal stabilizers. the later was the worse cause this area was not shown on the guide but I trimmed the decals as much as I could and touched things up with a paint brush.
