let_models
Greeting All, Here is my finished build 1/48 Classic Airframe F-5A with VNAF silver color for this group build. I completed it with some modifications plus some minor scratch build parts, I'm very happy with the results. let_models :)/> Edited May 12, 2014 by let_models
trietmcam
Super F-5A let. I know what you went through. Boy I still have nightmare with the kit. The CA kit was a tough one, but you pulled it off with an unusual scheme. Great work. Cheers Triet

Also thanks falcon20driver for your effort to have this wonderful subject group build, with out it we don't have much fun as of today! let_models :)/> Edited May 12, 2014 by let_models
ALF18
Here is my 1/48 Sabre, F-86E from the Korean War. I have taken some minor liberties with the decals, putting stencils where they look good, vice meticulous following of the plan. I had some major problems with this build, because I sprayed the Alclad on too thickly and it attacked the undercoating. I learned a lot of lessons about using Alclad, which for me is the best possible outcome for this group build. ALF

ALF18
Here is my second finished model. It is the Hasegawa 1/48 F-104J model, built as a CF-104 circa 1963 in Europe. I used the DACO update set for the wings, horizontal tail, and canopy tubing. Decals are from Wintervalley/Canuck Models, and I used Alclad Polished Aluminum, Alclad Stainless Steel, and Tamiya acrylics Japanese Navy grey, and Tamiya white primer. I am very happy with this one; I finally figured out the secret to doing an Alclad finish without screwing it up. ALF

falcon20driver
Great looking 104 ALF. You nailed the Alclad on this one.
Tom G
Here is the RS models P-51H. It is a limited run kit so it was a little fiddly but I enjoyed the build. I left the wash on too long and then couldn't get it completely off so it is dirtier than I originally intended. I guess I can just say it was in service for a long time and need of a wash. I hope you like it. Tom
CorsairMan
I keep meaning to redo my photo setup but I just can't ever find a good block of time to do it. So I am just going to have to post this shot. Here is a post war Kiwi Corsair - there were a few of these in NMF but not much information about them. Tamiya kit, OOB, Alclad and Tamiya Acrylics. Fun build!
falcon20driver
I do love that Corsair. That finish on a Corsair is just too cool.

AX 365
Hobbycraft Canada's 1/72 rendering of Avro Canada's CF-100 Canuck Mk 5 made up with the now hard to find decals from Skylancer for 413 Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Force, CFB Bagotville. Thanks for looking and your comments. I would also like to thank falcon20driver for his efforts in moderating this GB. Mike

ALF18
My last entry into this GB, an RAAF Mirage III in natural metal finish. Italeri 1/48, completely OOB including kit decals. Raised panel lines, and some inaccuracies in the build, but I was hoping to capture the slightly-weathered look of a tropical Mirage that has spent some time in the Aussie sun. AX 365
Hasegawa 1/48 TF-104G modified to resemble a CF-104D based at CFB Cold Lake. CF-104D 104651 was lost on a training mission on 24 June 1980 due to a bird strike. Capt. Wall (RCAF) was the pilot in charge and Haupt. Riedel (Luftwaffe) was in the back seat. Both ejected safely. A former Dutch F-104 (D5805) has been restored as CF-104D 104651 and is on display at the Alberta Aviation Museum in Edmonton. Mike
CorsairMan
Sorry Mike... there is a rivet that is just slightly out of line on the thrid panel, port side. Also a hex nut is not screwed on properly. Too bad because otherwise its a fantastic build!
