A21-29
You could try a simple sludge wash over them. I use acrylics mixed with water and liquid hand soap. That will probably make you love the gear. I think they look great just need some dirtying up. RAAF supers are kept very clean.there's very little grime or crap on them, gear included. I can live with what i have. Edited January 29, 2014 by A21-
VA-115EFR
I think your gears turned out GREAT! I love the wiring (plumbing) addition to it. Something I always wanted to try but afraid to do. Really liking your build so far!

The wash adds depth and shadow that a painted scale model itself cant achieve. Highly reccomended.

Devilleader501
Now that my man looks awesome. Great job on the weathering. Even if they are washed daily there will still be dirt left over. You Sir have now gone the extra step in modeling. This looks really great. Keep it up and you may surprise yourself with abilities you never knew you had.

Rambler
i have a lot of pics from the net,i am actually using Danny Coremans book on the legacy for the landing gear as they are very similar. I just found this book by Reid Air Publishing!! The modern super hornet guide I have a few others of his and they are incredible. I can't believe I didn't know about the super hornet book until now. Aggressor01
Nice detail. How much of that is kit and how much is scratch built?
A21-29
its about 60/40,40 being kit detail.its not bad by its self, but i wanted more.for example, the three knobs on the grey box,i added as it was just a square box.its now closer to the real deal i think. JesniF-16
Mike, lovely details you're adding to this Super Bug! The great thing is that yer learning a lot in a short time... I would like to suggest Tamiya Fine Surface Primer (White) for painting wheel wells and landing legs. This stuff sprays on super thin right out of the can and has great coverage! I personally decant and spray with my AB, but it's not truly necessary. Again great work so far and looking forward to more updates. /Jesse

Aggressor01
That engine bay looks spectacular. Do you plan on leaving the large panel haging down or hanging it under the opposite engine bay panel?
