Here is my Tamiya Corsair, getting close to being done. I did add ignition wires to the engine but the rest on the kit is oob. If you have one you won't be disappointed. I reworded the instrument panel to make the gauges look more shallow.

That looks awesome, Ben!

I'm closing in on finishing the cockpit decalling. Any advice on using the kit seat belts and harnesses?

I especially like how you duplicated the worn away paint on the wing roots. Do you plan to use paint or decal for the non-skid areas?

Cheers,

david

Hi Dave,

I did have a hard time with the seat belts on the next one I will put some heat to it to make is easier to bend. Going to try the kit decals first and if I don't like it I will paint it.

take care,

Ben

Wingman47,

just an impressive build of a very impressive model. You did an outstanding job modifying the instrument panel. Those gauges look incredible. paint scheme & decaling are just spot on. Looking forward to your next update.

Made more progress, started to weather with pastels and cotman water color. I gave the decals a light coat of white to tone it down, I had a lot of trouble with the decals from eagle edition they did not want to snug down. Thanks for looking.

Wingman,

You really did an excellent job with your color choices. Early USN aircraft just before Pearl Harbor were all gray with a red & white rudder. After 12/7/1941 went to a Blue gray over neutral gray. The blue gray faded quickly to a grayish blue. From what I see, you nailed those colors perfectly. And your weathering just adds that little bit extra to it, especially toning down the blue of the US Stars & Bars.
