Clave
The Pfalz D.III entered service with the Luftstreitkrafte in 1917 and although it was not as good as the Albatros it turned out to be stronger and was widely used until mid 1918. The D.III had it’s guns recessed into the fuselage, but this feature prevented the pilot from clearing jams, so the D.IIIa raised the guns for the pilot to reach. The D.III was armed with 2 x 7.92mm machine guns. This example is an Pfalz D.III of Jasta 4 1917. This example is an Pfalz D.IIIa of Jasta 5 1918. This example is an Pfalz D.III of Jasta 10 1917.
