SBARC
It is a painful thing to lose a Dad....especially if you had a loving bond with your Dad. When my Dad passed away...a wise friend helped me put it into perspective. Your Dad is not gone...he is as near as the next room.....watching over you....you can not see him or hear him....but he is very near.

hawkwrench
Today, next to getting the phone call at work of dad passing away, was the hardest day to get through, but ironically, it was the proudest day of my life. Dad was given a police escort by his former police officers who he trained and went on to other agencies. He trained 3 officers who went to work for the Boone county Ky. sheriffs office and 1 officer who went to work for the Cold Spring Ky police dept. They all came together to escort their beloved "Colonel" as he was called to his final resting place. After the 21 gun salute, amazing grace in bagpipes and dad's final dispatch roll call, I couldn't take if anymore and I broke down. I will forever miss dad and I will forever be in debt to the police departments who were a part of dad's procession! Walton unit 501,end of watch on March 22, 2014. May he watch over us and protect us from above! I love you dad forever!!!
