F-86E USAF Korean War

Recommended Posts

As you know, I have had many trials and tribulations during this build, but I finally licked the Alclad monster. This one will never be a showpiece, but at least I learned a lot of lessons.

I redid the Alclad by misting on some Aluminum over top of the sanded model, and managed to recover a bare metal finish that is not great, but free of huge defects.

Decaling is pretty much done here. I just have to touch up the odd thing, like the wingtip nav lights.

I'm calling this done. Not great, but from a foot away, it's OK.

Thanks for helping with your constructive advice, especially about the Alclad.

Alf, it looks great! You did a great job after the first Alclad issues. I probably learnt more about proper Alclad use from this build than any other so far, because I would have made the same mistake to start with.

Thanks! My mission in life is to make mistakes, so you can learn from them...

Great recovery ALF! Splendid work and a very nice finish. :thumbsup:/> Through adversity to the stars. Hmmm...that would be a great motto. :whistle:/>

Thanks Mike. Per Ardua Ad Astra to you too!

Looks great.

So from the pics i can tell the snow finally melted away :P/>

Merci, Neo.

Yup, the snow is gone. Finally. You won't even need snow tires to drive here... so no more excuses.

Nothing looks as good as a Sabre in the sun.

Well done

Thanks! We were young, we had fun, we saw Sabres in the sun... at least I think that's how the song went!
