Check Six
Aggressor 231 was the AV-8A squadron. 214 had Skyhawks when I was there. What a difference a couple of decades makes, eh? Semper Fi, younger brother. I remember the first time I saw an AV-8A Harrier. It was in 1971/72 at Norfolk NAS. My dad's buddy took us to a corner of the flightline (My dad was Navy surface fleet). Said Harrier was doing practice VTOL; Up and down, up and down. It even did a 180* turn in place ! To this day I don't think I've ever been more amazed at an a/c's unique ability as when I first saw that Harrier on that day.

CF104
32 year career in aircraft maintenance and a licensed A.M.E. for the past 24 years. I'll list aircraft that I had a major role in chronologically. The list is varied as I started out in a warbird restoration shop and worked through various piston aircraft for my first 8 years in the business. After 1990 I have been working exclusively on turbine powered aircraft with most of my experience split between the C-130/L-100 Herk(9 years) and the Boeing B727(10 years). I'm currently working on the Boeing B757-200 which I enjoy immensely. * DHC-1 Chipmunk * DH.82 Tiger Moth * Fleet Canuck * CCF Harvard II and IV * NAA P-51D * Most Cessna single piston aircraft (120 through 210, including the #1 C150) * Cessna piston twins (336, 337, 310, 414) * Aeronca 7AC Champion * Bellanca Citabria and Super Viking * Edgar Percival EP-9 * Beechcraft piston singles and twins (Bonanza, Baron, Duchess) * Piper piston singles and twins (J-2, J-3, J-4, PA-18, PA-22, PA-24, PA-27, PA-28 series, PA-31 series, PA-34, PA-44, PA-46) * DHC-2 Beaver * DHC-3 Otter * DHC-6 Twin Otter * Mooney M20 * Steen Skybolt * Canadair CT-133 Silver Star * Lockheed C-130, L-100 * Canadair CT-114 Tutor * Canadair CF-104 (Museum Restoration Projects) * Boeing B737-200 * Boeing B727-100 and -200 * Boeing B757-200 * Cessna C208B Caravan Cheers, John Edited April 9, 2014 by CF104

RodRedline
I was just curious to see how many people here work on or have worked on the real aircraft that we so tediously replicate here at ARC. What do you work on? What have you worked on? This goes for aircrew as well. C'mon fly boys we know you wear oversized watches and love to talk about flying (Dos Gringos playing in my head), so lets hear it. Was a crew chief on KC-135's--A, Q and R models. Check Six
It's not really an aircraft per se, but I make the rocket motors for the ACES II seats. No kidding ?!! Does that include being involved with the handling/mounting/manufacturing of the explosive material for the different cartridges?
2qwik4u
No kidding ?!! Does that include being involved with the handling/mounting/manufacturing of the explosive material for the different cartridges? Manufacturing and handling yes, it's pretty much all I do. Final assembly is handled elsewhere. -Dave
