I remember the first time I saw an AV-8A Harrier.

It was in 1971/72 at Norfolk NAS. My dad's buddy took us to a corner of the flightline (My dad was Navy surface fleet).

Said Harrier was doing practice VTOL; Up and down, up and down. It even did a 180* turn in place 377.gif !

To this day I don't think I've ever been more amazed at an a/c's unique ability as when I first saw that Harrier on that day.

32 year career in aircraft maintenance and a licensed A.M.E. for the past 24 years. I'll list aircraft that I had a major role in chronologically. I was just curious to see how many people here work on or have worked on the real aircraft that we so tediously replicate here at ARC. What do you work on? What have you worked on? This goes for aircrew as well. C'mon fly boys we know you wear oversized watches and love to talk about flying (Dos Gringos playing in my head), so lets hear it.

Was a crew chief on KC-135's--A, Q and R models.

flightline level fire control radar tech on F-4Ns with VMFA-531, USMC (trained for about 6 months in VMFA-314 before permanent assignment to 531)

same with F-4Cs in the 154th CAMS, Hawaii ANG

Weapons loader on F-16As, ADFs and Cs with the 158 FIS, FW, and whatever other designations the unit had in the 15 years I was there.

Does that include being involved with the handling/mounting/manufacturing of the explosive material for the different cartridges?

Manufacturing and handling yes, it's pretty much all I do. Final assembly is handled elsewhere.
