nmRoberto
Hi yall Looking for a good MIG 15 kit in 1/48 scale. I've been reading reviews of different kits and if I'm to believe the reviews....there aren't any decent half way accurate MIG 15 kits out there. Could that be true, or do you suppose the reviewers are just overly critical? thanks Rob

Jennings
Actually Trumpeter's 1/48 kit is more accurate than Tamiya's. It's been many years, but when I measured, Tamiya's wing isn't swept enough. That said, they both look like MiG-15s. Trumpeter's is more fiddly, but they also have a UTI that Tamiya doesn't.

Laurent
Wasn't there something like that the Trumpeter kit is based on the 4+ drawings which aren't especially accurate (fin leading edge sweep) ?
john53
Basicly if you buy the vac canopy and put an aftermarket cockpit in the Trumpeter kit it beats the Tamiya hands down! Like Jennings said the Tamiya wings are out to lunch as far as correct angle. I have the Trumpeter 1/32 beast and have replaced the cockpit and purchased a vac canopy. The engine isn't 100% accurate but it looks close enough. HTH---John Edited April 17, 2014 by john53
Andzin
Trumpeter MiG-15 is more accurate than Tamiya, it does'nt mean it is accurate at all :-) Fin leading edge sweep is inaccurate in both kits ... The best in any scale is Eduard in 1:72, if only Eduard upscale it ...
DonSS3
Then there's always the Monogram kit. Well, OK, maybe not. IIRC, it's fuselage is a little more, um, portly than it should be. It does have a VERY nice Asian Mig pilot, though. Edited April 18, 2014 by DonSS3
