dragan_mig31
From April,29th to May, 4th the first plastic scale modellers exhibition took place in Skopje, Macedonia. Approximately 100 modells from 6 plastic scale modellers were displayed. We did it hoping that in the future the plastic scale modelling will develop, and that more events of this kind will arise and the hobby will develop in a good way.I just wanted to share this here with you so you can see my struggle in organising this event. The air force commander in chief and me opened the exibition. We had a lot of support from the airforce. We had more visitors then we ever hoped for. Johnopfor
BRAVO! Great looking display. Great work on the kits. You guys should hold more displays to try to get more interest in modeling.

ChippyWho
Looks like a great show; certainly a more opulent location than we're accustomed to in UK! Also, that is a particularly inspiring build of Vanderhoef & Sloame's F-100D 'Pretty Penny' in there. Many thanks for the excellent photo coverage; hope this will be the first of many. Oh wow it's even hotter where I live. I've drawn myself a line running somewhere through France and everything south of that is too hot for me to visit. I should reconsider that line, so much interesting places to visit there! B) Will keep your invitation in mind!
Flankerman
Great display Dragan - congratulations on organising it - I hope it attracts the attention to modelling that you wish for. Which one are you in the photos?? - so we can see who you are. Are you Dragan Shvetik ?? - I see your name on the cards in front of lots of well-made models Ken

Hajo L.
From what I can see on the pictures an excellent exhibition with perfect models! I also like the professional atmosphere and the small descriptions placed in front of each model. It takes the "it´s a toy"-feeling away and replaces it with a kind of "museum-exhibition"-feeling. Although you have to be careful: Too much "museum atmosphere" will keep the people at distance. It´s ok if they don´t touch your models, but it´s not good if they are scared to even talk to you. During the few exhibitions I attended as modeller I always asked people if they have any special interest in one of my models or if I can explain something to them. Usually you´ll end up soon in a nice chat about a model or it´s original. If you want to advertise modelling I suggest to have at least one desk where one of you guys is actively modelling and building a kit during the exhibition. This way the spectators can have a look how it is actually done and get a feeling what you guys are creating there. My personal experience is that many spectators have a second or even third look at you if you´re working on a model during such a show. It also helps to have an halfway finished model on the desk (I never did that, but others do), because you can see all the parts and how they are arranged. It´s especially interesting when showing a model with different materials like PEs, scratchbuilt plastic parts and so on on display. HAJO
dragan_mig31
THanks pacheco and hajo l. @Hajo L. I thought of the same thing but the museum staff did not allowed us to that.I`ll try to do that next time.I am in a process of registering a modelling club at the moment so next year I`ll try to make it even bigger and in a more sutable place(museum) in the center of the city.
