Paolo Portuesi
First of all, let me thank you for your nice words. And then, I would like stress that Eduard kit has certainly visible size problems (length and wingspan), but in my opinion the biggest problem is in the main landing gear: 1. Too long. 2. Too much space between the two landing gear 3. Tilt angle completely wrong. I have deliberately not addressed these problems. I wanted to show how this kit looks straight from the box. In my next build I will do my best to improve this kit accuracy. It is a pity that Eduard made so many errors because this kit has also many advantages; good levels of extra details, very nice canopies, correct spinner and blades...and more. See you very soon, Edited June 5, 2014 by Paolo Portuesi
Joel_W
Paolo, Just an excellent OOB box build, done to the highest of standards. Your paint, decaling, and weathering is some of the finest I've seen on any WW11 aircraft build. And yes, there has been a great deal written and documented on the Eduard release. Even the head designer has said that there are some major errors. Overall the kit measures out to 1/47+th scale. The landing gear is indeed too long, and at the wrong angle. I've seen corrections for these issues, so it certainly is doable. What I Really don't understand is how so much R&D was done on the kit using refurbished 109-Gs, and still get it that wrong. The head designer said that they are working on correcting those issues, and their next 109 release will benefit from these corrections. Don
Top notch build ! The Camo looks spot on IMHO. As others have posted, it's nice to see a 109 with something other then black crosses and swastikas on it. Well done Sir!
