Barneydhc82
Here is the Roden D17S Staggerwing which replicates the 1:1 scale aircraft undergoing restoration at Langley, BC. The real thing carries my Grandfather's initials in the civil registration. Barney
Joe Hegedus
Nice! Any tips on building the Staggerwing? I have that kit and am curious about any "gotchas" in the build.
DonSS3
Hopefully it doesn't require all the filler my AMT Staggerwing needed...
Barneydhc82
There are no special tricks to building this kit and very little filler was needed. There is no throttle quadrant but it is a simple panel in the centre of the instrument panel...with prop control at the top, throttle in the middle and mixture at the bottom. All three can be replicated by simple wire plungers with a drop of glue on the end to represent the knob. Paint them Red, Black, Blue (t-B) Barney.
Joe Hegedus
Thanks. Always liked the lines of the Staggerwings. Lovely airplanes!
