Welcome to the group build to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the formation of the Japanese Self Defense Forces! On July 1 1954, the Japanese post-war National Safety Forces was split into the current land, air, and sea forces known as the Ground Self-Defense Force (GSDF), Air Self-Defense Force (ASDF), and Maritime Self-Defense Force. Since then, it has helped preserve the peace in Japan as well as supporting peacekeeping missions overseas.

The basic rules of the Group Build

-First of all, a very sincere thanks for taking the time to join us.

-The Group Build will run from July 1 2014 to January 1 2015. You can post what you plan to build in the meantime until the start date.

-The subjects allowed for this Group Build will be any land vehicle, fixed-wing or rotary-wing aircraft, or ship that has served in the JGSDF, JASDF, or JMSDF since July 1, 1954. This unfortunately excludes the Japanese Coast Guard units.

-No what-ifs, sorry. After discussin with spejic, the F-35 in future JASDF service will also fall under this rule.

-Please post your planned builds in the 'Planned builds' topic, a separate post for each subject.

-When you're done, post your finished builds in the 'Finished builds' topic for others to enjoy!

-Your builds should not have already been started beforehand at the start of the GB, or before you create your build topic.

-Aftermarket parts like decals, resin, and PE will be allowed.

Have a great time with the Group Build and have fun!
