1/48 Hasegawa CF-188B Hornet with Leading Edge decals and Black Box cockpit.

This next shot is the new plane with one I did 10 or 15 years ago. But I repainted it with another Leading Edge sheet I had. The old one was built ok but not painted well.

Here it is, repainted and back on the shelf.

Here are two more from me, first 1/72 Academy F/A-18 A+ VMFA-115 AC200 from around 2004, Superscale Decals

Some problems were encountered with the spine decals, but nothing I could not handle. Seat is from Aires and Main Landing Gear is from Italeri Hornet - fits like a glove ;)

Here's the shot on the landing gear, check the in progress thread for some comparison shots.

And the second one - 1/72 Academy F/A-18 C, VMFA-312 AC200 from around 2009, Authentic decals.

I've used resin seat from Pavla, and I've modified the kit main landing gear so it would resemble the real one.

I guess its the last one for me in this GB, and the last one in 2014, 1/72 Academy F/A-18 C VFA-146 NG300 from around 2001 - 2002.

I've used Print Scale decals which were awesome, very thin and durable - the flag on the nose caused minimal problems to align perfectly. Other than lack of one set of modex numbers (I've had to buy another sheet for them), no crew names and renaming the carrier as USS John C Stehng they were quite good. I've modified the carrier name to look more like it should but it did not came out too good. I've also used Pavla resin SJU-17 and modified the landing gear as per my previous build.

Hey, everyone, I forgot to post this in the Hornet's Nest GB. I didn't have a build-thread on this forum, but did HERE. I started work on September 24th and finished on December 12th. I really enjoyed the Academy kit.

The Academy 1:32 F/A-18C with the following aftermarket:

  • Sierra Hotel Models seamless intakes
  • Black Box cockpit
  • Rhino Models exahusts and wheels
  • SuperScale decals
  • CAM resin GBU-32
  • G-Factor brass landing gear

Ok, I managed one Hornet....and it's not even Canadian?! Anyway, this is the Revell F/A-18E with Fightertowns Tophatters Anniversary decal sheet. Added HARMs from the Tamiya F-16, AIM-9X from the Tamiya F-16, 3 Mk 83s and an AIM-7M from the spares box.
