Neo
Ohh white paint job.. those are hard. Cant wait to see it
Spectre711
I actually was just thinking of it as a warm up for Casper's green friend but now I have to figure if I'm going to pre-shade or just give it a dark gray wash. Maybe both but I'll have to keep my hands clean.
Neo
Yeah. Best advise i can give you is to paint the model silver then white it makes it pop
Spectre711
My link It's a pretty clean bird so thats some great advise there. I'll probably also go with a gray wash and play around with the color till I'm happy.
bdt13
Spectre- I have the same decals in the stash, I may do one of them (not the white one!) later in the GB if I get my current entry done in time. Not that I've tried it, but perhaps a very light gray/off white panel line wash is in order for Casper? FS 36622 maybe?
IrishGreek
That is a sharp looking Hornet. Gonna be looking forward to seeing your model!
plasticWerks_JL
I have the same decals in the stash, I may do one of them (not the white one!) I've got decals for a regular ol' grey Rough Raiders -B model on the Super Scale sheet I'm using for my first build, and an extra Hase kit. Maybe I'll tag along if I get my current project done! Can't wait to see the next update, best of luck! -JL Edited July 11, 2014 by plasticWerks_JL
Spectre711
I was making some good progress. That's when I started looking at the other box and thinking of Casper's Green Bandit Ghost friend. Figured I would make this a dual build. The instructions aren't the greatest so if your building this kit install the intakes into the lower fuselage and the filler panels into the upper fuselage before you glue the to halves together. Now I have two.
andyman_1970
Nice!!! I'm not familiar with the 1/72 HB kit.......how does it compare to the Hase and Acad kits??
Spectre711
I never built the Academy kit but it isn't even close to the Haegawa kit. Very simple build with not as much detail.
Mike C
Easiest way to paint this is with Tamiya Fine Surface Primer (White) rattle can. Great coverage, very hardy. You'll only need 2 thin layers, I reckon. Then just clear coat it.
Spectre711
Got one in white
Spectre711
After some time off I finally started with the decals.
