What makes an Austrian Eurofighter Austrian?

Recommended Posts

When at the decaling stage, bear in mind that Revell made serious mistakes with the Austrian national insignias.

The smaller, not so serious mistake is the size. I reality, the Insignias on the wings are larger than the fuselage insignias (I hae to look up the exact size).

More serious ist the position of the wing insignias:

They are on the opposite side from the German ones. The Austrian insgnias should be on the top right wing and bottom left wing. (The color is also a little bit too dark)

Also, the fuselage color of te Austrian Eurofighter is NOT the same as the German's, but a little less blueish.

I am not sure what the esact color is (I couldn't find a definite answer.) I used a mix of FS36375 (Light Ghost Gray) and FS 36320 (Dark Ghost Gray) on mine.

Of course, you wouldn't see them with an extended refueling probe.

Regards,

Markus

That's correct.

Tranche 1 Block 5 aircrafts. Six were used German ones.

They were aircraft originally ordered for Germany that were diverted on the production line, as opposed to "used" aircraft that had already seen German service.
