Joel_W
Just an absolutely 1st rate painting and decaling. Basic weathering is really starting to define the finish look. Joel
mrblujet
What did you use for the clear coat?
polar bear
Thanks for kind words. Mrblujet: I use Mr.Color GX100 super clear gloss for finishing. Due to Daco's decal is quite thick(only this set, others not). After the clear coat is completely cure over couple days, I sand over the coating layer to make it smooth. Then anothet clear and flat coat are going to apply respectively. This technic is from racing car modelling.
polar bear
To build particular aircraft, I have to find decals from many sources. So, the color of decals are difference. I fade down to make decals to be same color.
Air-to-Air
Polar Bear, did you get the decals looking the same colour by misting some of the base colour over the decals, or did you use some other colour like Tamiya Buff or Desert Yellow. I am interested in knowing how to achieve this effect.
polar bear
Air-to-air, I mixed 20% base color into 80% gross clear and thin down about 1:5. I overspray the mixed color after the clear coat. Repeat 2-3 times until the decal color appear the same. This may need good lighting condition as well.
Air-to-Air
Thank you for explaining that technique. I will credit you (and this build) when I have an opportunity to apply that technique.
