My father was a retired LTC in the US Army, and when he died in March, as he lay in his dress blues, I walked up to his casket to say goodbye, from an enlisted man showing respect to an officer, I saluted him. That was my way of giving my final respect to a man who had been my example and my inspiration to join the Army and be like dad was!
