Academy MH 60 S Helicopter 1/35 scale/

Recommended Posts

I guess no one noticed the inaccurate ESSS mount location. Needs to be over fwd bulkhead location, not mid cargo door.

The ESSS mount location is correct in the Academy kits and the build-up of this kit. It is over the forward bulkhead (between the gunner's window and the cargo door forward opening), not in the cargo door.

I plan on folding the rotors and tail too. They shouldn't be too hard to do. The blade props are just rods. The rest is just details.

I can post any pics right now because I just switched my phone over to a G2 and i don't have my photobucket password on the new phone, but if you go to the MH-60M interior thread and click on the embedded link, you will see some pics of the new seats in a Army Blackhawk.

I wonder why the Navy doesn't use the new crew seats?

I understand they have better crash protection and are just over all better.

Hey-

The MH-60S has been in the fleet since 2002-3, so clearly there were many Sierras delivered before the new seats were available. I'm not sure if the Navy plans to upgrade the crew seat or not. IMO there is a serious lack of cooperation and commonality between the services with the various Seahawk/Blackhawk helicopters.

Here is a cruddy pic of a pretty busy interior. I like the netting.
