rustywelder
Got started on this Friday. Looks like quite a nice kit with exception of the extremely pathetic even for a Japanese car kit engine bay. This will likely be pretty slow moving, as I don't get a great deal of bench time these days. I hope you enjoy though. Box top Chassis/interior parts Exterior parts That dismal engine bay Clear bits and tyres Decals and window masks Just got everything washed and dried for now, hopefully I'll have some progress to show Thursday. Thanks for looking.
dekon70
Any updates on this? I saw one of these running at the Lime Rock Vintage Days a few years ago, what a fantastic sounding car. BMW had a bunch of their cars there and were giving hot laps in them to some lucky winners(myself included).
rustywelder
I got a bit of body work done, but life has gotten in the way and I've not gotten a great deal done. I'll try and get some more pics tomorrow. I absolutely loved these cars when I was a kid. I'm jealous that you got to see one run in person, I would kill for that. The f1 short tails and the Marlboro Mclarens of the eighties and early nineties made a mclaren fan to this day.
dekon70
I didn't get a lap in the Mclaren, that was the girls in front of me, I went in their M1(still an awesome ride BTW). It's cool how they had to sit behind and to the side of the driver. I will tell what a class act BMW is though; a few weeks after the event I get a large yellow envelope in the mail. Inside is a picture of all the cars in their historic series taken on the front straight of Lime Rock and it was autographed by all the drivers that were there driving the cars for them, Boris Said, David Donahue(my driver) were two of them. The Mclaren there was in the Fina livery. Edited November 1, 2014 by dekon70
