hawkwrench
Crazy insane modeling oliver-, she's coming along beautifully. I really love the rivets. What is the size of the rivets and what thickness was the metal strip you used on the tailboom? Tim
Olivier 40
Hello, Thanks for your comments. For rivets, I used sheets Archer ref: 88014, 88016, 88022 I also used sheet Micromark, en HO ref: 84985. For the tail, I used the sticky of aluminum. For my F-8P(FN) Crusader 1/32 Trumpeter + scratch, here is the link of mounting in France. http://fighters.forumactif.com/vos-montages-avions-helicos-f2/f-8pfn-crusader-1-32-trumpeterscratch-t24786.htm Here are some pictures of my F-8P(FN) Crusader at 1/32 and more for fun. Olivier 40
Hi all, Update today on the cockpit. Despite the time passed since my last update, I do not stayed inactive on the conversion. I started by adjusting the parts in resin of the dashboard. The fit is perfect as you can see on the pictures. The sheet Eduard has added many details for the interior of the cockpit. I have hesitated during a long time before changing the seats of the Revell kit and enclose them to the conversion. In view of photos of the doc and the pieces of kit, it could not be otherwise. I therefore modified the three seats, including survival kit and seat back to be more in line with reality. Here also, the sheet Eduard will come quite enhance the details of the seats. My Lynx in its configuration, will be not equipped with sonar or the table to listen. The cargo hold is empty... Finally... empty..., not quite, because there will be the 3rd seat (left side) and AA-52 right side. There should be also the seat of 4th man on the right. The details of the canvas are included with the wrapping paper. A lot of works remains to finish this cockpit, but the biggest is made to be able to close the conversion. Here is the final list of the parts of the conversion: -Antenna VHF- FM -VHF-UHF antenna -IFF antenna -Antenna VHF + ETBF -Position UHF -Doppler -Receiver OTPI -Boxes R/L -Complete winch -Shears -Fire extinguisher -Box pharmacy -dashboard - lure-laucher -Sponsons R/L -Supports torpedo R/L -Frame gun AA-52 -Horizontal plane retouched - oil cooler - air inlet vent -Nose (retouched) -New cargo left and right door -Engine covers -the roof sight - x3 survival kit for seats - Stencil MARINE - Documentation CD Here are some pictures of the progress of the cockpit: Olive
Olivier 40
Here are the MK4 French seats. Those who are in the MK3 and MK88 kits are quite different to the back and especially survival kit. This is the seat of the Revell model with the original part of the survival kit and the modified part. Olive
Olivier 40
This is the seat of the Revell model with the original part of the survival kit and the modified part. For survival kit, the wool bonnet is made with milliput glued of sodium bicarbonate. The effect is quite realistic even after moulding. The canvas of the cargo compartment lining is made of wrapping paper. Olive
Olivier 40
Here is the winch, a small model to him alone. The roof (system SYREBOH) with its GPS antenna. A cut in the canopy will be necessary... Here is the stencil with the MARINE and the numbers of the 5 machines concerned by Berna decals sheet. Finally, the beautiful documentation CD (thanks Renaud) in which is contained a photoscope of the machine as well as photos of 5 machines concerned by Berna decals sheet. Be careful ... limited edition... If you are interested in this conversion, please contact me by MP or email: pinpin40olive@orange.fr Those who have already begun to receive their conversion can give their opinion on the quality and the price of this kit... Here, now it's over for the conversion. I can focus on the cockpit mounting, hoping that I won’t spend six months. I wish you all to spend happy holidays for the end of the year. @+ Olive
