janman
This is a pretty hard-to-get kit of the first real Subaru rally car, the car that paved way for the legendary Imprezas. Finland's Markku Alen was hired as the star driver for the new team that struggled with car's reliability for the two years Alen was driving for them. He started the 1991 1000 Lakes rally with a very strong performance ("with maximum attack", as his style always was!) and led until the second day - when the engine once again blew up. The cockpit is basically finished. The foot rests were copied from the PE sheet of Hasegawa's mark.I Impreza, but made from styrene sheet. The arm rests and the window cranks on the door panels were scratch-built. No decals are available for this particular car. The markings come from Studio 27's 1992 Swedish rally sheet and are accompanied by custom made markings for 1991 Thousand Lakes rally.

janman
The original Subaru livery looks quite pretty, doesn't it? I still remember the first time the Subarus were driven in the 1000 Lakes rally a year before (1990). The masculine sound of the boxer engine was very distinctive when compared with Integrales and Celicas. We thought the Legacy sounded cool!
