11bee
Figured this would be a nice compliment to the What's everyone drinking, What's everyone driving thread. Some of these are on hiatus but I figured I'd still list them. My top list (in no particular order): Al Jazeera American / BBC for my news fix Boardwalk Empire (only 2 more shows, adios Nucky). Personally, I think this may be the best series I've ever watched Game of Thrones (a close second behind Boardwalk for best series) House of Cards (season one rocked, season 2 a bit less) Orphan Black The Knick (The first couple of shows were available on cable, now the remainder require a Cinemax subscription which I won't pay for) Coppers True Detectives (not a big cop show fan but Mathew McCaunaghey is amazing in this one). Deadliest Catch (starting to get a bit old and commercialized but still interesting to watch) Bomb Squad (just stumbled upon this, it follows a Navy EOD team in Afghanistan) Nova (pretty much all of their shows are worth it) Frontline (same) Band of Brothers / The Pacific (Saw them when they first came out, worth watching a second time) Prohibition (documentary by Ken Burns) The War (same) NFL Football (go Pats) Premier League Football (soccer) Smithsonian Channel periodically has some interesting military / aviation related documentaries Dora the Explorer, Team Umizoomi, Paw Patrol (my 2 year old's favorite shows)
TaiidanTomcat
House of Cards (season one rocked, season 2 a bit less) Without getting into spoilers I was highly disappointed at the turn that show took, haven't even bothered to finish the last season. Loved the game of chess of the first season and now its apparently about a sociopath. I tolerated the "deviation" with Peter Russo, but that should be kind of a one kind thing, extreme circumstances with some opportunity. I don't like that it became a habit. Spacey is no longer even an anti hero, don't like any character on that show, quit. Watch GoT, Probably time to rewatch it again from the start. (are you fully caught up/current?) Just finished the last season of Futurama Dr. Katz (wonderful background noise for modeling, it doesn't rely on visuals and I often LOL) Crash Course World/US history (Its a you tube thing) NFL football, Soccer both EPL and Champions league when I can. Redlettermedia.com (specically the plinkett reviews lately) Extra Credits (youtube again, about making video games) Every frame a painting (youtube, about making movies) Barbell Shrugged (podcast/youtube when I can remember to.) Just started Star Trek TNG, I have seen some here and there and of course there is a lot of "cultural osmosis" of stuff I have picked up already but I want to see it all. Boring so far, Supposed to improve when Riker Grows his beard. Tend to get my news from online sources... Fark.com

WymanV
Television is just background noise here, so it's usually on TCM. I did recently pick up a couple of Looney Tunes DVD sets that were missing from my collection, so I've been catching up. Ken
11bee
forgot to add Breaking Bad. Been bingewatching it a couple of nights a week. Didn't get into it when it first came out but am enjoying it now. Tried Mad Men a few years ago, didn't like it. But since it's always gotten such great reviews, I'll probably give that show a chance again. Edited October 19, 2014 by 11bee

nerdling
Just started Star Trek TNG, I have seen some here and there and of course there is a lot of "cultural osmosis" of stuff I have picked up already but I want to see it all. Boring so far, Supposed to improve when Riker Grows his beard. The first season is just terrible. It does get much better once Riker grows his beard. No idea why that makes a difference but it does. I'm currently one the fifth season myself. Started out by watching all of Enterprise in June and moved to The Original Series and now up to TNG. Also my wife and I have been watching Once Upon a Time. For a Disneyfied show it really isn't that bad. Oh and Walking Dead.

ChippyWho
As the autumn/winter schedules kick in here, there are a few items of interest -mostly imports! Homeland (s.4) Gotham -Batman without...Batman. But it may get good once it gets going. Justified (s.5) Always reliable! Any juicy little morcels from the current NFL Season (even though I don't know who anyone is any more, and live coverage is in the dead of night here...) Dr Who -still waiting for Peter Capaldi to make something happen! Also looking forward to s.2 of The Returned...bon d'accord!
echolmberg
The Middle. It's the most accurate representation of what parents have to go through. Major Crimes. My wife and I like the personalities of all the different characters. Grimm. Gotta love Monroe! Once Upon a Time. I'm kind of ebbing away from this myself but my kids enjoy watching it so I keep watching it with them. Granted, what I watch is mainly fluff but it's a thing to do if I want a break from the usual bad news of the day (war, ebola, school shootings, etc) but I'll put on CNN if I want to feel extra stupid. Gotham seems ok but the writing is bad Scorpion is pretty good so far Still watch Top Gear UK and American but the UK much much better. The daily show @Midnight is amazing Simpsons is a staple. Most of my tv watching is sports. NHL Cleveland Browns and occasional other NFL games NCAA football and basketball Other times the kids are in charge

Joel_W
Here's my general watching list. Yankee Baseball/Baseball post season as the Yankees never really make it these days NFL: NY Giants, then NY Jets. Usually 2 out of the 3 time slots on Sunday, Monday night football. Work Weds and Thurs nights ,so I take a pass on them even though I can record the games. The Blacklist Madam Secretary Scorpion The Big Bang Theory Marvel: Agents of Shield The American Heroes Channel National Geographic Channel Joel Edited October 21, 2014 by Joel_W
ALF18
A lot of shows we don't get here... like House of Cards (unless you have NetFlix Canada). In no particular order (or more like when they are in the week): Madam Secretary (surprisingly good. I usually don't like American political dramas, but Téa Léoni is SERIOUSLY hot... and smart on the show) Satisfaction (new Showcase series - on DVR, have not sampled it yet, but it looks promising) Big Bang Theory The Millers Marvel's Agents of Shield Covert Affairs (oooooohhhh... Piper Perabo!) Hawaii 5-0 Haven NHL hockey NFL (casually, when nothing else on) CFL (playoffs coming up!) Gracepoint Scorpion Survivor (yes, we have this one trashy, guilty, pleasure!) Elementary (starting up again on 30 October) OK, we are TV junkies. ALF
GEH737
Walking Dead - easily the best show I've ever seen on television.
