Aigore
As you know my friend,I'm a 72nd modeler, and some Master product in this scale are very tiny but the quality and details are beautiful,so mini-gems... This model as one of your best, both in the building and painting.I'm not a Viggen expert, but the RWR detail that you added look slightly misaligned, just to let you know! Cheers, Gianni Aha, those master gems. ... :) misaligned.yep slightly. ..doesn't bother me tho :)
Aigore
A mini update....but even a small step forward is still a step forward :P Painted the probes and antennas... Dipped the canopy in future.... PAinted the belly airbrakes, thought I´d use the big MLG door actuators as rams for the brakes. Glued the brakes in place, the belly brakes always hangs open when hydralic preassures is gone. Cut the rams to size and glued them in as well... It´s moving at least :D
denstore
Looks very nice, Janne! Soon finished. What's up next? Space, air, ground or water? And yes, my AMS is a bit nasty. It's so bad I have stopped unpacking the stuff I buy, since new kits or updates might come soon, and then it will be easier to sell the old ones if they are left untouched. ;)
MattJCYKZ
It looks fantastic Aigore! I can't wait to see the finished model. Fantastic work so far! -MattJ

erik_g
If I dare guess I think Aigore will build a MENG Messerschmitt ME410... ....nah.. just kidding.. It will probably be something delta-shaped and jet powered, like a Mirage 2000 or perhaps a 1/48 B-58 Hustler... yeah, the Hustler it is.. :D /E
Joel_W
Janne, With each small addition, you're one step closer to the finish line. And each small step really adds to the total package. Come on, for your next build, join me with a WW11 prop. It's one of those straight wing aircraft with a spinning thing up front. :monkeydance:/> :thumbsup:/> Joel

erik_g
Not only partial to the information.. Paolo Maglio
Janne, in a month the SF and AJ will be available from MPM, so it is not the time to build anything else, just concentrate on Viggens and study the fallen leafs camouflage!

Anders_Isaksson
That looks sweet, Janne! Have you made any observations about the length of the landing gear legs? When looking at my finished Tarangus Viggen I have feeling it sits a little high on the gear, but I welcome any thoughts on this matter. Janne, in a month the SF and AJ will be available from MPM, so it is not the time to build anything else, just concentrate on Viggens and study the fallen leafs camouflage! I believe MPM will release the SK and the AJ while Tarangus will return to the Viggen with their SF later, or am I mistaken? Can't wait for the SF myself so the sooner the better. Now that Maestro has produced a set of camouflage masks painting should be a breeze (haha, who am I kidding! ;)).

Thanx Anders :D Hmmmm....Think you´re right about the landing gears....looking at pics the door should reach down quite a bit over the tire and touching the hub.... Here it sits rather low....the nose almost pointing up a bit.... But then again when comparing with this pic it sits a bit higher .....like on the model the doors only touches the rims and the Aircraft stance is level. http://www.abpic.co.uk/images/images/1351657M.jpg With that in mind I don´t think the tarangus is wrong....just perhaps depicting a bird a bit low on gas perhaps? Aigore
Another mini update :D After dipping the canopy in future I masked it and painted it... Then I painted black on a strip of plasticard... It fits into the canopy like this....all the hinges and canopy opening ram goes to this piece and the canopy is just sort of fastened to it. A little gap at the top but that´s alright.... New hinges from plasticard.... And mirrors donated from a hasegawa Tomcat.... And glued into place :D There, another item checked off the list :D Cheers!
erik_g
Nice! But one thing bothers me just a bit, but I don´t know the best way to fix it. I am thinking about the lower edge of the forward canopy. There is white or light gray showing through there, perhaps from primer or putty? Maybe there is some easy way of making it go away? Regarding the picture of the real Viggen above, I think that one is riding unusually low. Maybe it´s fille dto the brim with fuel or maybe the oleos are tired? I don´t think a load of just four Sidewinders is that heavy.

I don´t think a load of just four Sidewinders is that heavy. The easy way is to make a window sealant strip all the way around :D Fighter load outs are rarely particularly heavy...my guess it's filled to the brim with fuel. There are many pics showing planes sitting that low or with a slight nose up.
Joel_W
Janne, Very nicely done canopy. Is that mounting method called out in the kit instructions, or you just pulled it out of your "Bag of Tricks" ? As for the what's next on your build list, you never came out and said I'm building this particular aircraft next. Joel Edited February 27, 2015 by Joel_W
