Hello everyone.

Just registered on this forum, and am glad to be a part of this great place - finally. I've been back and forth a number of times throughout the posts here, and have seen an incredible amount of very talented, and very knowledgeable people here. I'm glad to be able to be a part of this now. It has been quite a while since I've built any models, and I found myself elbows deep recently finishing up the cockpit of a 1/48 Sturmovik I am converting over to a Polish KR variant. So, long story short, I'm back into building models.

Ultimately I would love to decorate the office with a 1/48 CP-140 Aurora (as that's what I work on - hence the username), but time will tell.

Thanks again for letting me come aboard, and hopefully I can contribute some useful stuff to this great place.

:post1: Every new member brings something different to these forums, and makes it just that much better, feel free to post away and ask questions, if not answered immediately, they will be soon; if you asking a question concerning modeling please be sure to include the scale of the subject you're referring to, it will get your questions answered more quickly. The data and reference sources, and the immense wealth of knowledge to be tapped here is second to none, I'll mention another forum [britmodeler] of which many guys here are also members there, they have a tremendous wealth of knowledge concerning British/RAF aircraft and all things British. Here on ARC you won't find a better group of modelers so ready to help another with any modeling hang up they may have; so dive right in and Happy Modeling ;) . Edited by #1 Greywolf

Welcome

You sir are in a most envious position. You will be able to build the model of an aircraft that you are intimately familiar with. No scrounging around for crummy reference pictures for you.

I look forward to seeing a 1/48 Aurora. Good Canadian content!

Cheers

Paul

Thanks Paul!

I truly intend to go through a thurough step-by-step with the Aurora when it comes time for it, while also sharing the reference information that I can. Nature of the beast with the CP-140M, is that there is general content which can be shown on public sites without issue (pretty much everything outside...), while very little from the interior can be photographed and posted. While I intend to have as much visible as possible (popping open P/S overwing emergency exits for example), there will still be little that can be seen. But, rest assured, whatever I can post, I will post.

I saw an Aurora perform at an air show here in California about probably about 8 years ago. Sharp looking aircraft. When I was younger (about 5 or 6 years old), their P-3 American counterparts were constant visitors shooting touch-n-goes here at Vandenberg Air Force Base, and was actually the very aircraft I learned to ID by the MAD boom.

Still see them here on a rare basis.
