BenAngWJ
Yes, that's right, it's the USCG Hind-D. Started building this while waiting for parts for my RSAF Black Knights F-16C. Saw these photos on Foxtrot Alpha and I knew I need to have one! Started on the cockpit and tried my best to mix the paint with my eyeball MkI. Meanwhile, if anyone have an unused 1/48 USCG decal sheet somewhere and want to let it go, please let me know as I am still searching for one. Cheers, Ben

WTH would the US Coast Guard be using that and where? If real, then I want to see the B-52 and B-1B they have in inventory, too. :) Edited December 1, 2014 by Wizard_rkt

nicholassagan
Coooooool. This instantly bumped up on my to-do wish list when those images surfaced. I will be watching with extreme interest :)
KursadA
Heh - that should put the fear of God into those unlicensed Florida anglers!! They could at least have found a Hip to paint for the movie, but I have to admit it looks interesting.
BenAngWJ
Repainted the pit because I thought it was too green. Is this better?
nicholassagan
Hard to tell in the pics but it looks good.
zerosystem
A guy in my model club just showed me those pics with a build in mind...small world.
BenAngWJ
Apologies for the lack of updates! Finally found some time to work on my models. Here's the instrument panel ofter some dry brushing. Still need to practice on my skills.. Also weathered some panels and floor of the cargo bay The completed cockpit Followed by the completed cargo/passenger bay First time trying to make the landing gear bay look 'busy' Ben
nicholassagan
Coming along nicely.
BenAngWJ
My impression of Russian aircrafts are dirty, built to fight and not clean like showroom cars so I weathered the panels more. Anyone knows how to weather khaki drab? Those seats looks too new Ben

BenAngWJ
Happy New Year guys! Hope you have a great year ahead and collect more models! Here's what I've completed. Found the original cutout for the exhaust too odd and big so I tried to make it smaller using styrene. Before After After few coats of putty It's not the best fit but it gets the job done. Still better than an overly large hole that sees through to the other side. Ben Edited December 31, 2014 by BenAngWJ
harvy5
I remember! It was the Soviet action movie, a combination of Rambo and James Bond. Soviet Spetsnaz save the world from evil imperialistic boys from the US. They would like to start a nuclear-war! Cargo bay on the Mi-24 was never green but gray-blue
harvy5
The movie with a similar theme and IL-38 in camo P-3! Very nice shots on naval aviation Soviet Army http://ulozto.sk/xs3nPid/udalost-ve-ctverci-36-80-cz-dabing-1982-hq-dvdrip-m4v
dnl42
That's a cool subject! FWIW, I'm about to start a real USCG aircraft for the SAR GB. My Google foo indicates that MM Chevy Engine Red and Cobalt Blue do a reasonable job for CG Red and CG Blue respectively. Sitting in front of me, they do look the part... RCAFFAN
If you haven't glued the body together you may want to repaint the interior as the inside of Hinds are medium gray, only the actual instrument panels are the funny green colour. Most of the cockpit, seats, cargo area and side walls are gray. Of course you are doing a "what if" movie prop so you may not care about this but I thought I'd put it out there....
