Thanks as usual, HomeBe, for the timely heads up!

Have you come across anything new from HB in 1/72?

That's an aggressive release schedule. Nothing in 1/32?

Yea just wish they would get the Flankers out in 48th.

Then the 31's and hope they smash out a 25 family as well.

And the 2 seat night fighter 262 is a nice addition.

I'm hoping the Hawk 100/102 is a decent kit.

Figure the odds..

I'm surprised by the lack of excitement about the various AMX variants & the Lansen :blink:/>

Kinetic stole the thunder with AMX..

They're the wrong scale. ;-)

Why Italeri haven't done one in Gentlemen's Scale remains one of the great modelling mysteries...

Cheers,

Kinetic already asked if modelers want the AMX also in 1:72 scale.

Well, considering Hobby BooBoo's track record on "accurate" kits, I will still wait and see how they do on the following items:

ref. 81740 - Lockheed U-2R Dragon Lady

ref. 81741 - AMX

ref. 81742 - AMX A-1A

ref. 81743 - AMX-T

ref. 81744 - AMX A-1B

ref. 81745 - Saab J-29F Tunnan

ref. 81746 - Saab J-29B Tunnan

ref. 81752 - Saab J-32B/E Lansen

If the SAAB J-29 Tunnans are more accurate than the AZ Models kit, I will probably get one. Of course, I will STILL have to convert it to an S-29 recce version.

I don't see how their U-2R can be more accurate that the Testors/Italeri kits (of which I currently have 12), just maybe more details/fiddly bits.

Also, with all those 1/48 F4U Corsair versions they will have, I sure wish they would do an F4U-5P or F4U-4P, with some interesting markings.

Just have to wait & see.

I'm surprised by the lack of excitement about the various AMX variants & the Lansen :blink:/>

That's because ANY announcement from Trumpeter/Hobby Boss is cause for extreme nervousness these days, not celebration. They have proved themselves to be, in aircraft at least, a triumph of quantity over quality. I really want a 1/48th AMX, and my first thought on seeing this was just to be grateful Kinetic's is close to release. My first thought on the Mig-31? To hope fervently it doesn't spike AMK's planned release. And that's how it goes with them. Your first question upon hearing such news is "what are my alternatives?"

So no, no excitement I'm afraid. Just worry.

I wish they would scale down the Demon to 1/72.

And I wish SOMEBODY would do the overlooked FJ-3 Fury in ALL scales.

Well, I am cautiously excited about the Lansen and Tunnan kits. The AMX from Kinetic looks nice enough that I doubt the HB variant will have something to add.

If the SAAB J-29 Tunnans are more accurate than the AZ Models kit, I will probably get one. Of course, I will STILL have to convert it to an S-29 recce version.

I believe even on a bad day, HB would still create a more accurate Tunnan-like kit than the AZ monstrosity.

Damn, all the money I have spent on the AZ kit I have in my stash.. new resin nose, all the PE and the metal landing gears. Also, if the Lansen kits will be any good, I have two Tarangus kits that probably never will be built too.. But we┬┤ll have to wait and see I guess. Anyone who knows more precisely when the kits are going to be released, other than "2015 maybe"?

It's rather difficult to get excited about the "Flankers", as they have been promised every year for IIRC the last 3-4 years, lot's of kits that would be great, but I'll believe it when I see them on the LHS shelf, or in the Sprue Bros or scale hobbyist websites. You'd think they would be out big brother (Trumpy) has had the Flanker 32nd kit out for quite some time.

I guess most of the italian model builders are scattered all around their forums, spitting hatred against each other.I was once part of them, but thanks to a few the community broke, after some years I wandered around lurking on four forums and gave it up,someone told me to join in their club but as soon I said the forbidden words of my interest an builds are all around sci-fi,fantasy,game and anime subjects and guess what Ace Combat, none of them ever asked me something again.

As if having a shelf plenty of AMI Starfighters and Tonkas is something to be proud of it
