Am I s-t-r-e-t-c-hing it, or is there a similarity between the forward area (cockpit and nose) on the X-15 and the SR-71, The windscreen and canopy shape are what I'm referring to.

Kelly Johnson and North American did share some information but it's my understanding it was mostly about working with titanium. The similar shapes can be attributed to their being contemporaries and dealing with similar environments and requirements.
