rightwinger26
Alright my friends, her she is....U-552, and if I must say, looking just like Erich Topp is ready to take her out of St. Nazaire for the 'Second Happy Time'. This is the 1/350th Hobbyboss kit, bought for me by the Secretary of War (wife) for Christmas 2013, the hull was glued together and left in the box. It was finished with MM Light Ghost Gray and Schwarzgrau. The weathering is done with a black wash and brown pastel. The rigging is smoke colored invisible thread, and the turnbuckles are simulated with gobs Vellajo Natural Steel. My only regret is that I didn't take the time to buy aftermarket deck guns. My only real gripe with the kit is that Hobbyboss was cool enough to print the Red Devil decal in black! Thanks for the support for the build, now it's on to Lulu Belle! Don
TAMIYA 1/35 T-34/76 a 40 year old kit and two-time shelf queen FINALLY DONE!!! My goal was to depict a Soviet T-34/76 as it may have looked in the late dry summer months. This was my second time using Mig Pigments...with a lot of room for improvement. Base is a simple wood stained piece of pine, sculptamold as a ground base, with static grass in two late summer colors, pigments and paint combined with ultra fine sanitized dirt. Its my own personal preference, but I like armor models mounted on bases that fit the model. I just find a too small base with the model spilling over detracts from the overall presentation. My opinion only of course. Enjoyable build and one that I am glad that I was able to finally finish. Thanks to all for your support. I welcome all comments. Build and more photos found here: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=281564&st=0&gopid=2682443entry2682443 Kindest regards, Don. phantom
This 1/48 Academy F-4B WAS going to be a VF-161 bird back in November. Then Vegabond announced a new VF-84 sheet. Well........ the model was adjusted to represent VF-84 and await the decals. They showed up yesterday and went on today. phantom
This is the first Phantom in 1/48 I ever did. It has been on my shelfs for over 25 years, maybe over 30. It was in dire need of replacement and trashing. In fact it was replaced by the VF-84 build above. Parts were stuck back on with scotch tape and painted over. Stripped it down with oven cleaner. Replaced the tails with spares from my last Academy build and a new paint job and decals. Voila old F-4B becomes a F-4G (navy) and a shot with the plane that this one was replaced by... CorsairMan
7 so far and we are not even a third of the way into this GB.... keep em coming!
phantom
Well 3 are mine, sitting around un-loved for too long, I am going to do up some for my own GB next. Still have a Sky Raider that DonG started that would work for this GB. Just need the right decals first. This was a very good idea for a GB. Get a lot of stuff that would not qualify for other GBs out of the stash.

I have another as well - it qualifies but... man, it was giving me a lot of trouble before it was shelved.
rightwinger26
it was giving me a lot of trouble before it was shelved. That's my problem too, do I have the patients to try one of those others, they were bad. Airfix Saturn IB, and Eduard LaGG-5 (that was a shock), and....something else, I can't think of it right now.
