gman
Hello all, Greg @ Modern Hobbies here. A few months ago, prior to the holidays I initiated discussion asking my fellow 1:72 modern jet modellers if they would like to have MH produce a cockpit set for the Hasegawa Superbug. This resulted in a resounding Yes. So I wanted to touch base here as well and ask you all to weigh in. Specifically which version would you like to see produced first; the "E" or "F" cockpit? I plan on dong both, but as I like to do at Modern Hobbies; I like to allow you guys to tell me what YOU want. Which ever way the census sways, it's getting produced! Which version first? The proposed MH F/A-18E/F Super Hornet Cockpit Set for Hasegawa will tentatively include: replacement tub, instrument panel and dash/ cowling, NACES (SJU-17) seat(s). The set will feature my near drop-fit moulding for excellent fit and minimal fuss, all molded-in detail and zero PE, clear photo-based instruction sheet PDF and options for open or closed display. So drop me a comment, or suggestion here or my FB page! Thanks for reading and happy 1/72 modern jet modelling!
ChippyWho
Excellent product idea; tough choice! TBH, I'd go for the Foxtrot version and include regular + ACS back-seater options: this will instantly appeal to those lost souls aching to build a late Rhino in the 'proper' scale, as well as anyone just wanting to upgrade from the pretty lame stock interiors that come in the Hasegawa box... Also, the seats & tub may be good for a Growler 'pit when you get a moment...? Either which way, I reckon you'll shift a good few in all flavours.
Tom G
For some reason I prefer 2 seaters so I too would suggest the -F model. Your F/A-18C and F-15E cockpits are great. I look forward to the same treatment for the Superbug. Tom
rustywelder
F first please! And if you really want to impress, a SHARP pod to go along with it. ;)/> Edited January 24, 2015 by rustywelder

I agree, that would be my strategy with doing the "F" version cockpit. Thanks for wieghing in!

I look forward to the same treatment for the Superbug. Tom Thanks Tom G. I appreciate that! Yeah, I'm like you in that I'm more of a fan of two-seater combat jets over the single seaters. Thats really the underlined reason I reached out to ask cause I have to put aside what I prefer over what my customers actually want..after all, I do plan on doing both so, I can eventually have my cake and eat it too..in time. Yep, you can be sure this new set will get the same treatment of detail, maybe a bit more as I'll apply new things I've learned since the F-15E and F/A-18C cockpit! Thanks for your comments! Cheers. gman
F first please! And if you really want to impress, a SHARP pod to go along with it. ;)/>/> Ha! So, another vote for the "F". Nice. Definitely getting the "hint" for a SHARP pod! LOL! Got it, Thanks for chiming in!
achterkirch
F model gets my vote I tired do PE for the pit and even thou it came out nicely I still would want something more for the effort I put into it. That and a SHARPs pod would be great!

That and a SHARPs pod would be great! Cool, another nod towards the "F", thanks achterkirch! I hear ya, regarding more for your effort. Some may know this about me, but I despise working with PE. It often renders cool detail, but man do dislike working with it. The tools needed to bend, shape tiny parts, attaching them. God help you if you loose a part off your workbench to the carpet monster. Anyway, I digress. Thanks for your input! It's looking more and more like the "F"...and a SHARP Pod, LOL! polar bear
I vote for two seater with a little hope of Growler pit to follow. Nat.
nfiler
Am I missing something here? Both kits share the same tub. The back cockpit is just covered over with the E kit. Why not just do the same with a replacement? The E kit gets the whole front cockpit details with no extra seat or instrument panel or details for the back end. Those are included with the F set. I would also urge going the extra mile and doing a Growler cockpit. A lot of commonality there.
Eric B.
Hi, Greaat. I have been a Modern Hobbies customer for each of your 1/72nd scale cockpit refs.. Now ChippyWho got it right... I'd also say F and that's the way I would like things be done. Gman, very good point if you plan things that way. And I am not 100% technically sure (would need to check) but I believe nfiler also probably gets a very strong point here with is "commonality" proposal. Cheers.. You can be sure I'll be in anyhow for E/F/Growler versions of your cockpits.. Eric B. Edited January 25, 2015 by Eric B.
Johnopfor
Both Hasegawa kits are begging for a cockpit, but I would like to see an F version first.
