Rodney
After seeing some of the ideas being posted and organizers being sold, I decided it was time to re-organize my model desk. However, I'm fortunate in that my wife has access to a laser cutter. So, I got on the computer and designed an organizer that will suit my needs. One requirement is that I wanted a way to hold my instructions. Here is the before pictures: I wanted a better organization of the tools, paint brushes, and items I use most often. My wife had the idea of encasing a sheet of stainless steel and using magnets to hold instructions. Getting rid of the paint brush carousel was a bonus. I'm pretty happy with how the project turned out. Now, time to get back to the 1/72 Tamiya Mosquito... Rodney
Crazy Snap Captain
Love it! Don't suppose you're planning on producing a few more for sale? I'd be in for one. Edited February 16, 2015 by Crazy Snap Captain
Adam Baker
Very nice, I like that. I've got one of those tool carousels too, and its really beginning to annoy me.
xavi84
HOLY WOW! I'll take 2! (if you ever plan on selling them)
Rodney
Thanks, I'm glad everybody likes the effort. I'd be willing to cut some extras for those of you that are interested. Rodney
82Whitey51
Nice set up! Dig those OTT lights. I have one on my workbench, love it. A second one is a great idea.
falcon20driver
I'd love on for my bench!
TomcatFanatic123
The whole thing is awesome, but I really love that stainless steel/magnet idea for the instructions! Edited February 17, 2015 by TomcatFanatic123
phantomfan
Very well designed, I like a lot the "brushes holder section"... Any chance to have the possibility to buy one? Thanks a lot. Marco
SERNAK
Wish my models-desk was so organized. Unfortunately, every time I combine finished and unfinished projects, it becomes a total mesh!!! WHICH IS ALWAYS!!!
-Neu-
Very cool! I'd buy one as well. Along these lines, is that Gunze sells a cardboard paint box that fits their paints and tamiya ones that I love. http://www.hlj.com/product/GNZDC901/Sup
Rodney
Nice set up! Dig those OTT lights. I have one on my workbench, love it. A second one is a great idea. Thanks. The second light really helps. I had one for a long time but had trouble with shadows. Rodney
Rodney
Let me clean up the drawings and incorporate some lessons learned. Also, I need to figure out the costs. Then, I'll let you all know what the cost will be and I can start cutting some. Thank you, Rodney
Joel_W
Very nice done. I've got one Ott light and two Tensor White lights. One just never has enough light. Too bad my wife doesn't see it that way. If it was up to her, I'd be modeling with a few candles. Joel
