GretarBill
Hi. I'm a slow builder. But there are some progress on my ICG Dauphin. I have some bad pictures I took a few years ago. I also contacted the ICG and they sent me a few pictures. So I know how it should look like on the inside. I'm making a strecher out of wire, made a shelf cabinet in the rear, made a cuter from a Tiger tank. There should be a fur cover on the pilot seats so I'm using a "fury" paper to make that. I also got Martin Baker seatbelts from Airwaves. They are near to the look of the originals. I just found out that Eduard makes PE set for the Dolphin (US Coast guard) that I´m going to order. Here are some information about the helo. http://www.helis.com/database/cn/11497/ So here are some pictures. If I can put them in. It seems that I always have problems loading picuter from my Flickr site here. <iframe src=" width="75" height="75" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe> <a href=" title="IMGP9256 by Grétar William Guðbergsson, on Flickr"><img src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7607/16623813850_e6d242a4f2_s.jpg" width="75" height="75" alt="IMGP9256"></a> Ok it seems as I'm having problem loading pictures here, as usual. :bandhead2:/>/>/>/>/> Here is a link to the pictures. Well enough for now. Best regards Grétar W. G. :wave:/>/>/>/>/> Edited March 14, 2015 by GretarBill
niki4703
Hi Grétar, Pictures from flickr are very easy to insert once you got the hang of it :) Just go to the desired picture > click on the white downwards pointing arrow at the lower right corner on the black background ['Download this photo'] > select 'View all sizes' > choose whatever size you like to use > right click on the photo and select 'View image' > copy the url from the address bar > come to ARC and your posting window > click on the 'Insert image' icon and paste the copied address from flickr. It should have this format (if you followed the above sequence :) ) : "https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7607/16623813850_e6d242a4f2_b.jpg" ...and look like this: Anyhow, I love Dauphins so I really am looking forward to your progress Cheers, Niki P.S.: I'm sure there is an easier way to post pictures here, but I'm notorious for over-complicating things :D Edited March 14, 2015 by niki4703
Litvyak
Looking forward to seeing this done. Icelandic subjects are exceedingly rare.
GretarBill
Thanks for the info Niki. I´ll try and see what happens............. Oops. When I do as you say The picture opens in ACDSee, my photo program, but not on the web. So what you talk about isn't workig for me. I did how ever notice that the format you talked about was in the lower sequence I tried to use. So here I go again. Lets see if the pics show up now. Here is the inside of the right side off the choper. Evergreen sheet styrene has been put in to fill in a depression and a lead foil to make a pocket in the door. There should be cutter on the rear bulkhed of the cabin. I made a mould from a 1/48 Tiger I have and then used epoxy glue to make the cutters. The general layout of the interior. I made the shelfs in the back with Evergreen sheet styrene. I am making the strecher from wire. There should be a fur on the pilots seats. I'm using a "fury" paper for this. (the red on the seat) The safty harnes is a Martin Baker harnes from Airwaves. One final picture to show the location of the cutters Well then we just have to see if the picures show up. They do not show in Preview Post mode! Thanks Litvyak. Yes I think this is the only Icelandis suject I'we seen. As far as I remember. There are however a few military arcraft kits avalible that have been stationed here and one can get after market decals for Icelandic airliners. Arggghhhh!! I don't know what I'm doing wrong. But the blo**y pictures don't show Yeehaaa. It worked!! Thanks Niki for your clear and usefull guidence Edited March 18, 2015 by GretarBill
Litvyak
I think a few years ago I saw someone building an Icelandic Catalina... although it might be that I just thought it would be a nifty subject to build! Looking good so far with this build!

Litvyak
Hajo - if you edit those picture links to remove the "_s" right before the jpg, the pictures will show up bigger.

GretarBill
'Allo 'allo Litvyak. It so happens that I started to build a ICG Catalina about 20- 30 years ago. It was the 1/72 Airfix kit. As a matter of fact I still have it............. Unfinnished! Thanks for your help Hajo. Though we only saw thumbnails. Thank you again Niki. I laughed when I saw your explainations! Great stuff. So now I need to see if I can do it. I also see now what I was doing wrong when I said above that the pictures opened in ACDSee. Thanks Phantom. PS Yeehaaa. It worked!! Thanks Niki for your clear and usefull guidence Edited March 18, 2015 by GretarBill

GretarBill
Hi. I've got some work done on my Dophine. I've cut open the sliding door on right side Done the pilots seats and nearly compleated the other seats. Just need soms safty harnes / belts for them. I used aliminum foil from a wine bottle to make the cover on the seat behind the pilot seat on the right side. I scrachbuilt the overhead console. I also cut a piece from the fuselage where the emergency floats are located. Now I'm waiting for the Eduvard PE set to arrive. I'll probably get it in around the weekend. Also the landing gear is exstended as in flight. I´ll probaly try to fix that. Won't be any problem with the main gear, but it will be more complicated with the front gear. But that's a later problem. Well, now we need to see if I can load the pictures! Best regards Grétar W. G.
niki4703
Great to see pictures' posting working :D and progress being made Nice surgical skills you have there! So, what's next?
GretarBill
Thanks Niki. The Eduard PE set finally arrived so I'm working on the cockpit. I'm also making new pedals and have made a ceiling for the passanger compartment. No pictures now. Maybe, hopefully, I'll be able to post some pic's next weekend. Hello, I would like asking a question: what kind of epoxy glue you used to make a mould on this? 2 parts mixing epoxy, will getting hard after awhile? It's safe not to harm the plastic? Your idea was really cool!! Thanks in advance! Let_models :)/>/> Edited April 23, 2015 by let_models
GretarBill
Hello, I would like asking a question: what kind of epoxy glue you used to make a mould on this? 2 parts mixing epoxy, will getting hard after awhile? It's safe not to harm the plastic? Your idea was really cool!! Thanks in advance! Let_models :) Hi. You may be misunderstanding what I´m saying. I do not use the epoxy to make the mould. To do that I used material called Oyumaru Clay. Then i used 2 part epoxy to make the cutters. I sometimes use the epoxy raher than mixing resin to make such a small part. I hope this makes the matter clear. Best regards GWG Edited April 24, 2015 by GretarBill
GretarBill
Hi. Some progress on the model. The Eduard PE set. They have the instrument panel both as printed and a film. I'll probably be using the printed one. It's coloured. If I use the PE insturment panel that is. More about that later. I moved the petals backwards. They are to near to the bulkhead. The one on the right is the one I moved. New pedals where made out of vire and pedals from Airwaives German WWII accessories. Because I don't know which instrument panel (IP) I'll be using I made a new one. The PE IP is completly incorrect for the Dauphin. The decal instrument that comes with the kit is nearly correct. so I'll make my dissison which IP I'll be using just before I put the canopy on the model. The PE parts in the cockpit in theyr places. The overhead console is nealy ready, with the levers and air tubes. Just need to put some things on later, that are black, after it has been painted. the "shelf" for the cutters. As for now I've painted the cockpit and done some other small things. Like making air, or something like that, bottles that are stored in the shelf in the compartment on the aft bulkhead in the passanger compartment. More about the next time. phantom
Is the fuselage together yet?
GretarBill
Is the fuselage together yet? No. I was going to try to put in some pic's tonight, but I packing for a cykling trip over the weekend. so I don´t have time. The cockpit and the overhead console are nearly ready. Both painted but just need some little details to complet them. I´ll post some pictures next week when I'm back from the cykling trip. Have a nice weekend Grétar W. G. GretarBill
Hi. Finaly I have time to upload some pictures. I hike and bike a lot and at this time of year I hike and bike even more. There has been some progress on my Dauphin. Air tanks in the shelfs in the rear bulkhead. I made moulds with Oyumaru Clay from tanks I had and made the new tanks with epoxy glue. The interior is more or less ready. The aluminum in the strechers is a blanket and the bag is from a Tamiya Jerry can sett. The rear bulkhead's nearly ready. I made the fire extinguisher from strech sprue and a 0,23 mm solder. I also made a box and a float to have on the shelfs. The cutters are in their place. The overhead console. I think it came out ok. The interior with the bulkhead attached. Well that's it for now. Hope you like it so far. ;)
