British conman with a touch of lyrical poetry. I will treat this topic to the same standards as with my other 1001 topic. This takes some efforts, but right now i just wanted to get the word out.

"Spring is in the air. Winter is at last behind us and some new green shoots can be seen in the garden. Time to dust off the tools in the shed and to get building a new model"

Seemingly a very friendly guy that has entertained me on and off for months now without having anything to show for it. The original order was placed back in october last year for £25.

Bjoern in Norway

So i was looking online for the Detail Model He 162 item. You may not know of this manufacturer. It is a less known sort of like Aires type of thing (also from the Czech republic) Anyway euromodels popped up and indeed they sold this oop item. So i registered with them on the 24th of october and placed my order on october 25th for some £25.21. The order also included a Quickboost P-47 cowling. The last item did not appear on the paypal receipt which is where i base all my information from as there never was an official email issued from euromodels to verify the order was placed. I guess they were experiencing some type of logistical problems, er...computer problems..

Oct. 24th, I created an account with euromodels.co.uk. Upon registering i received the usual welcome email from them. No apparent technical issues here...

Oct. 25th, Order was placed and the standard paypal receipt was received.

Oct. 29th, Sent euromodels an inquiry regarding the seemingly idle nature of things and to learn of my orders status.

Oct. 30th, Received an email reply from Andrew Horne. "Hi Bjoern, Just a quick e-mail to confirm recipt of your order below. We are having a

few logistical problems at this time and will advise you of shipping date and tracking details in due course. Thank you for your e-mail. Andrew (Euromodels).

Some typical product discussions and shipping alternatives between myself and Andrew were exchanged on oct. 30th. I inquired about buying another set and

the product availability. He would get back to me on this matter he said.

Nov. 10th, Wrote him a few lines asking what was going on as there had been nothing but silence for 10 days.

Nov. 12th, Reply from Andrew: "Good Morning Bjeorn, I'm sorry for the delay. It appears that confusion here has caused a delay. Can you please

send me a new e-mail listing exactly what you are requesting including part numbers and quantities. When I receive this I will organise a

completely new manual order and then e-mail you the complete cost including postage & packing. Sometimes it's easier to simply start again. Regards, Andrew (Euromodels)."

Nov. 12th, Reply was made out to Andrew. No intelligent life in the other end so another try was put forth.

Nov. 18th, Fast forward six days and another try asking for my order to be shipped out.

Nov. 21st, Reply from Andrew: "Hi Bjoern, Thank you for your e-mail. Yes we received your order thank you. I am still rying to work out a way of

getting it to you without you incurring a customs charge? I think we may have to ship in 2 x seperate consignments on different dates to get

around the problem? What do you think? Regards, Andrew (Euromodels)"

I was looking at the possibility of cancelling the Quickboost item to exclude import duties. Shipping two separate shipments was an option.

Nov 24th, Reply from Andrew, "Hi Bjorn, Ok I will do as you have suggested. I will let you know when all is ready for shipping.

There will be 2 x consignments with seperate customs declarations for each one. Regards, Andrew (Euromodels)"

Dec. 9th, Me being the patient soul i am, i sent him a short reply "And in the meantime have a jolly christmas i suppose"

Dec. 11th, Reply from Andrew, "Hi Bjoern, Happy Christmas to you to I hope that you have a nice time. Regarding your order.

I have still to receive 1 x item from the manufacturer that is currently in our French warehouse. As soon as it arrives here

I will ship your complete order to you in Norway the way we agreed."

Jan. 18th, Sent Andrew another email telling him they raised the import limits here in Norway to around £35 from 1.1. 2015.

Also inquired about the already discussed possibilities of procuring any more He-162 detail sets from his "french warehouse"

Jan. 20th, Reply from Andrew, "Good Morning Bjorn, Thank you for the change of customs limit. I will look into your order again.

I think the problem was trying to get more than 1 x piece to you in the same package under the Norwegian customs limit including

the postage andpacking? Although as you point out the limit has increased slightly, I don't really think it is going to make any

difference? I have a feeling that you will still pay a customs charge when the goods arrive with you in Norway?I will look into this again and get back to you as soon as I can. Regards, Andrew Horne (Euromodels)"

Jan. 20th, I expressed my concerns to Andrew urging him to process my order, but more or less realizing he would never be able to provide.

Jan. 21st, Reply from Andrew, "Good Morning Bjorn, Yes no problem. I will look out your original order and we will just send exactly

what is listed upon it. It is not just Norway that are very strict with customs charges. At least in Norway your customs are consistent. Here in the UK the customs may or may not make a charge depending on how they are feeling on the day. On one occasion a UK

customer will be charged customs duty, then almost the same value order on another occasion the customs duty will not be charged!!It's very difficult to plan as you never know what will happen? Regards,Andrew (Euromodels)"

Jan. 24st, More relaxed chatter between us. I asked him yet again to let me know once the order had been shipped.

Jan. 27th, Reply from Andrew, "Hi Bjoern, Yes you are right. We have a strange hit and miss customs system here in the UK.

I will organise your original order and get it off to you. Will advise shipping information when it leaves us. Regards, Andrew (Euromodels)"

Feb. 7th, Short message was sent to Andrew inquiring about my order status and if he had shipped it yet.

Feb. 20th, Andrew decides to continue his communications with me despite his apparent unwillingness to ship my order.

"Good Afternoon Bjoern, Apologies for not getting back to you before now. A close friend of mine died suddenly and I have been

away from my office dealing with this and the Funeral and have only just returned to work. I have a feeling that the items you

ordered are on their way to our warehouse at this time. I will of course check with my French colleagues and confirm this to you.The last I heard before I had to leave my office was that all was ready and the items were going to be shipped to us.Thank you for your patience and again apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Kindest regards, Andrew Horne (Euromodels)"

Feb.20th, Who ever said persistence pays off? I continue to contact Andrew and urge him to get on with things. I tell him it is a better

solution to cancel a sale than let a customer wait for months on end without receiving the merchandise. It does not work..

Feb. 23rd, Andrew replies, "Hi Bjoern, Thank's for your e-mail. Euromodels as a company dates back to the mid 1970's and for

may years we specialised only in the World of period model boats. More recently we tied up closely with one of the largest

European importers of plastic kits which has allowed us to diversify. We have had a few problems recently with our relationship

due to the change of ownership of the plastic kit importer which we are busy working through. Unfortunately this has caused some

logistical problems that are being resolved at this time. I feel it may be better to do as you suggested and refund you the amount

of your original order. I agree with you this would have been best at the outset. Apologies for the continued problems. I look forward

to hearing from you soon. Kindest regards, Andrew (Euromodels)"

Feb. 25th, I send Andrew a few more lines asking to have him cancel the original sale and refund me the £25 payment as any honest merchant would do.

Mar. 7th, I send one last email to Andrew specifically asking him where my refund is. To this day there has been no more communication from him.

SO THIS IS BY LARGE HOW MY EXPERIENCE WITH EUROMODELS.CO.UK HAVE BEEN. A VERY VERY POOR EXPERIENCE I WOULD DARE SAY. I SUPPOSE ALL

THIS WAS FUN AND GAMES FOR HIM ENTERTAINING HIS CUSTOMER WITH BOLLOCKS AND HAVING NOTHING OTHER IN MIND THAN TO DECEIVE ME.

STRANGELY, THE ITEM IN QUESTION STILL SEEMS TO BE AVAILABLE FROM THIS PIRATE OF THE HIGH SEAS MERCHANT. LOOK OUT FOR LOW BLOWS FOLKS !!!

Actually Britmodeller do have a bad trader section it's buried in the Buy/ Sell section

Well technically yes you are correct, but this is only for business that has taken place on britmodeller itself..
