If you are going the warbird route, you should consider doing Bad Kitty from the Historic Flight Foundation in Everett, WA. A really great looking bird with cool nose art. The first one will have a Cal-Nat firebomber, an F7F2-D drone controller, and two Korean War F7F3-N nightfighters with nicknames (WF/6 "Nuckle Head" and WF/24 "Linda"). The second canopy in the drone controllers were apparently taken from F8F Bearcats, so the instructions will suggest the use of a Squadron F8 Bearcat vacuform canopy.
