Steven H. McLain
Does anyone have a paint mixing formula for the modern slime green and yellow paints used on fire equipment ? I also need one for the CDF Grumman S-2 Trackers used in the 1970s. Thank You
Don
I wonder if an auto parts/auto body store might have a touch up size they could sell you? I know my local Ford dealership services our areas ambulances, police cars, and smaller fire department vehicles. This service includes body repairs. I bet you could probably get hooked up trying one of these avenues. But it would be the real-deal auto paint and it could be a headache to work with. Baring that, I believe many folks who model fire equipment use Rust-Oleum Painters Touch "Key Lime Green": http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41VAnb9hGhL._SY300_.jpg Spray a white primer coat first (I use Tamiya white primer) and once cured spray on light coats of the Rust-Oleum to build up your color. HTH Regards, Don.
adambc
Check out Scale Finishes http://www.scalefinishes.com/emergency.html Hope this helps. Adam
dean
The link Adam shared looks like it'll be right. I work for an Airport Fire Service and all our vehicles are "Stryker Green". We have an Oshkosh designed Stryker so the colours should be a match. I've got a couple of build threads of our vehicles if you want to see the colour I'm using.
