Father, we lift Norah up to you. You know what is going on with her. Guide the doctors as they try to find it out. Lead them. Give the family peace and bring a healing touch to your child. In Jesus name, Amen. Keep us informed!

AMEN, AMEN AND AMEN!!!

Tim

Thanks so much to you all! And yes, I'll most certainly keep you up to date.

I'm writing this from her room where I am camped out. Norah is fast asleep. We got some good news in that more tests have come back negative. She is stable so we are going to be moving out of the ICU tomorrow morning. The treatment has to take its course and she will be having another MRI later this week to see if the swelling has gone down.

I see all this as positive. The doctors and staff have been so good to her. Despite how scary this must be for her, she continues to smile.

Chris,

Sorry to hear this, my wife is an RN and she always says how good infants are at rebounding. When my oldest child was born we were told she could have cerebal palsy. They thought she was having seizures and she spent time in NICU.

She is a healthy adult in her second year of University. She has been an honor student throughout her school days and has suffered no consequences of the difficult delivery. Whatever early intervention she received at the NICU worked.

The air ambulance organization I work for has a PICU team that flies on our helicopters for peds cases, they are truly amazing specialists.

One day one of our helo's returned from a mission to get a small toddler out of a well. She was cold and not breathing when they got her out. Our flight paramedic worked on this girl all the way to the hosptial. He didn't quit CPR. When the helo arrived back at the base everyone was upset. They didn't think this was a successful outcome. The little girl was talking and walking two days later. We were all shocked as she had no pulse.

Prayers for your little girl.

Gary

Hi everyone

I'm writing this from home. Norah had great results from her second MRI and because of her improvement she was discharged this afternoon. The issue still remains but its less pronounced. The swelling in her brain has gone down to the level where they consider it 'inflamed' but no longer swollen. The doctors can see no damage at this time

So we continue the treatments at home and in a few weeks we hope to see this little one return to her old self. No doubt her mobility and walking will be delayed. But she still has that personality and voice that makes me so proud to be her Dada. She actually developed more words in the hospital despite how hard it was on her.

The doctors have warned that it might be a few weeks for the issue to resolve and that we just need to focus on daily improvement. We can do that.

I can't thank you enough for your kind words and warm thoughts and prayers. They really helped us during those stressful times. You are all very kind hearted people.

Hi guys,

As most of you know, Norah was admitted to CHEO in early April. It was an incredibly anxious time for Tanya and I. Norah spent a week in the hosptial in a number of wards but is now home, recovering, and crawling everywhere!

My wife and I were constantly amazed by all the hard work of the staff and doctors at CHEO. They were wonderful with Norah and their dedication to her and all the other kids was inspiring.

On behalf of Norah, I've decided to try to give something back to CHEO and I think this is a good start. I set up a team to raise some money for CHEO. We go by "Norah's Cruisers" and you can help support us by making a secure online donation using your credit card using link below:

https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/FundraisingPage.aspx?SID=5685158&LangPref=en-CA&EID=161370

As well, if anyone is interested in joining the team and raising additional funds, that would be fantastic! The link has information on how to join up. I think you can even find us on the main search page as NorahsCruisers.

For more information please visit www.cncycle.ca

Thanks so much everyone.

My little daughter was also recently in CHEO after getting very sick while we were travelling in Mexico. Nothing as serious as yours, but nonetheless trying and traumatic all the same.

And yes, the staff were really amazing. We were so happy to have such a facility to go to.

I will be giving your team a donation.

best of luck.
