joining the black hawk band wagon

Recommended Posts

I guess will join the the Blackhawk builders and do my first helo here. I would like to really dress it up nice, so any imput or pointers on the building this bird would be so greatly appreciated., I purchased the Eduard Big ed kit for detailing. I don't have a lot of scratch building talent so im hoping the guys here will take pity on a helo nubee and please help. how do I go about adding pics to this topic?

Good luck on your Blackhawk. Eduard has some decent stuff but I would highly recommend checking out Cobra's resin. Especially if you are going to be building a late version with all the new sensors, flare buckets, etc. Also, Live Resin has a very nice M240 set.

To post pics, you need to upload the pics to photo sharing site like Photobucket. Then copy and paste the IMG link into your post here on ARC.

Good luck.

Thanks Oliver , its the academy 1/35 UH-60L kit. I thought I would start off with something a little bigger hopefully easier.

was wondering if there any particular fit problems or things of that nature on this kit. One question I noticed on the other blackhawks they have the little box under the seats that the guys scratch built is this common to this version as well?<a href=IMG_0030_zpsrbqf2k5b.jpg' alt='IMG_0030_

Good to have another Black Hawk build here. If you read some of the other build posts here, you will learn a lot about what needs to be fixed on it. It is a pretty good kit, but can be great with a little work. Also, I'll second the Cobra Company sets. They are great and add a bunch of missing details.

For pics, you are adding too much to it. All you need is to copy the Direct link under Sharing from Photobucket and paste it between image tags [i m g] ... [ / i m g] (but without spaces), like so:

[ i mg] http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w31/lindsay19633/IMG_0029_zpsun71pjr7.jpg [/ i m g] and you get this:

You are still adding/copying too much of the url. All you need is the part from http:// to .jpg Put these between the image tags and it will work fine.

You're still copying too much. All you need is from the image http://... to the .jpg. so only copy that part and place it between the tags: [ im g] http:// i172.photobucke t.com/albums/w31/lind say19633/IMG_0034_zps8w7x hv7i. jpg [/img]

Once you remove the spaces, it shows up.

Looking pretty good. I see one potential issue though. The right side cut-out (lower one in photo), is too far inboard. The holes behind it are where the seat side rails will attach and the opening should be no wider than the two holes. Yours will have the opening wider than the seat and the bottom seat rail in the opening.

If you are copying the http from the address bar, that is your issue.

There are two ways to get the proper address in Photobucket.

1. On your album page, click on your photo so it gets larger. On the right side of your photo, you will see "Share Links" with three boxes under it. One of the boxes says "Direct", copy what is in this box. Paste what you copied between the image tags, [ i m g] paste here [/i m g] (leaving no spaces).

2. You can also hover your cursor over the gear in the upper right corner of your pic to get the "Share Links" option in a dropdown menu. Click on "Share Links" and you will get the same three boxes as above. Copy from the "Direct" box and paste as above.

You are closer. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w31/lindsay19633/IMG_0034_zps8w7xhv7i.jpg is what you copied from Photobucket. Take what you copied and do the following:

Type [im g] [ /im g] (but without extra spaces). These are the image tags.

Paste what you copied between the image tags. [i mg ] http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w31/lindsay19633/IMG_0034_zps8w7xhv7i.jpg [/im g ] (again without any spaces).

When you have removed the spaces, the image will show.
