rustywelder
Cool! Just the new scheme or will there be an option for the old canyon blue scheme as well?
Jennings
Just the new one. There's nothing whatever in common with the old scheme.
Commander Botha
Can't wait to see these decals. Does anyone make the new winglets? Also, the WIFI antenna hump?
Ben Brown
Authentic Airliners includes correct winglets with their 737NG engines. I think Braz may sell some, too. Haven't seen any WiFi bumps. I'm not looking forward to scratching some for the 737, E190, and A320 (because I'm lazy! :D ). Ben
Mercury
Will we see them in 1/200?
Jennings
Possibly. We're debating that at the moment.
TheFlyingDutchman
Arjan and I are busy doing the most common 737NG WiFi dome (Southwest uses it as well). We have to overcome some casting problems first so no release date yet.

We have to overcome some casting problems first so no release date yet. Are the smaller low profile wi-fi domes available in 1/144 somewhere? I have plans for a Westjet 737 and it looks like they use a smaller wi-fi dome.

But let's keep this thread just about Southwest 737's and the new decal sheet :)
eraucubsfan
Has anyone found a decent match for the Canyon Blue for these aircraft? I just bought this sheet but I am bad at mixing paint...
Ben Brown
I asked Brad Shinn over on Airlinercafe.com several years ago what he used on his model (LINK), and he said Tamiya TS-24 is a very close match. I seem to recall that he said he’d checked it against the real airplane. I have that paint and the cap is purple, but I haven’t actually sprayed a test card to see what it truly looks like. Consensus over there is that Xtracolor Canyon Blue is too grey. Ben Edited July 26, 2020 by Ben Brown
eraucubsfan
Thanks Ben, I will pick up some TS-24 and see what it looks like.
Ben Brown
I’d be interested in hearing what you think. This is on my list of future projects but I have a few other things ahead of it. Ben
eraucubsfan
Here is the first pass of TS-24. It changes color a lot, might be a touch too purple, but its pretty darn close. Its sprayed over a Tamiya white primer base coat. Sorry about the quality of the photos, they are taken with my phone.
Dutch
@eraucubsfan, Looking really good! I am mostly a retro-liner fanatic, but this is one of my favorite modern schemes. See 'em every day, several times a day on finals over the house. Keep up the great work! K/r, Dutch
