tobiK
Nice to see the F-4 in those markings! So many boxes out there but lamost everybody is buidling something different than the box version. I like it!
Matthew83128
Great build! I grew up in STL and watched the 131st fly F-4 and later F-15's over my house.
Jamie Cheslo
That is really great work! I have had this kit in my stash for years, and I think it will be my next build. How are the decals to work with? Did you encounter any snags in the build itself?
jzsn
That is really great work! I have had this kit in my stash for years, and I think it will be my next build. How are the decals to work with? Did you encounter any snags in the build itself? Thanks for the kind words, the build quality is good as always for Hasegawa kit. The only thing is decal shows some age. Just make sure the large pieces adhere fully stretched out and nicely flat (they tend to wrinkle/form creases when dry). Apply the red decal on the vertical stabilizer first before putting on the bulge at the top (easier fit).
Jamie Cheslo
Thanks for the advice on the decals. I imagine they would do well with a little decal setting solution.
Joel_W
A really nicely done F4. One doesn't see that paint scheme modeled very often. Joel
Rich in name only
What did you use for the light gray?
jzsn
What did you use for the light gray? I used Tamiya Light XF-66 and Dark Gray XF-24. The light gray is still a bit darker than what it should be when I looked at the real thing. Testor's Neutral Gray FS36270 is more accurate. Thadeus
Very nice Phantom! I like how it looks with those markings. And it does have a sharkmouth - Phantoms need a sharkmouth ;) Great work!
Rich in name only
Thanks on the colors! Going through the joys of matching grays. Rich
