The funnel cap was 11 pieces.......time for a drink :woot.gif:

Now I need to hit the cap and the inside of the funnel with flat black, the I can attach the platforms and paint the outside. By the end of the week I hope to start work on either the mast, or the cranes, I haven't decided yet. But, for now, it's time to start raking leaves for the day!

I got sort of lazy and didn't feel like masking anything....but I made a lot of head way today.

I still need to weather, but that's easy, once that is done I can glue all the levels together. Once that is done I am going to start adding all the little bits that I haven't wanted to break off on accident, and start building all of the Orilkons. There are 16 of them, and each is eight pieces! There is actually light at the end of the tunnel, I'm getting much closer to being finished.

The forward superstructure is done, all that's left is a few PE radars, but those will be done later so I don't break them off.

Thanks for the nice words Sebastijan.

I've gotten most of the work done on the 4 ships boats, most of the PE is folded. Tomorrow, I'll prime them and hopefully shoot the canopies with a few coats of white, for the 4 main boats i believe there a total of 40 pieces of PE!!!!!

I know it's been awhile since my last update, but I've been out of town. Before I left I actually did finish all the main batteries, and the boats, but I didn't have time to take pictures. I'm driving home tomorrow, so there will be a big update this weekend.

I decided with the foremast, to start a WIP, since it has close to 75 pieces to it. Here is the Starfish Platform that makes up the core of the structure.

Next up is to make the cage structure that goes on to the fighting top, that is going to be a pain!

Tonight I'll build the gun directors, and the forward superstructure will be done. It's really starting to feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel, I was starting to feel in a time crunch a week ago, just due to the amount to PE I had left, but this kit it so good it all went together with no issues. Now I'm starting to look for a good rigging diagram, to make it as accurate as possible.

Forward superstructure is finished!

I'm soooooooo close to being finished it's frustrating! I'm getting ready to finish the aft superstructure tonight. Tomorrow my plan is to spend the day building and painting the cranes, and finishing the Supermarine Walrus, then construction should be finished. From there I just need to touch up paint, the spots are easily visible in ththe pictures so far, and rig it.

Thanks again. Going has been slow, I'm coaching high school swimming now, and my practice is afterwards, so I only really get a chance to build on the weekends. But.....with the holidays, I've had some more free time. The other crane is finished, but I'm not happy with it. Tomorrow I'll paint them and install. The Walrus is half way painted, I'll finish that tomorrow as well. Once that is done, I just have to touch up some spots with paint, then rig. I'm starting to feel so,empressure with this one, I can't NOT finish a build for my GB idea. Not through lack of trying, but big ships take a while. Check back late tomorrow, I should have some pictures posted.

I think 1/350th is the best scale for ships, they are big enough to add a ton of detail without killing my eyes, but are much easier to display than 1/200th.

More soon......

Bill
